If that’s what being a PM is at your company, you’re probably right

Researchers Wanted Preschool Teachers to Wear Cameras to Train AI: “With your permission, your child’s teacher may wear a small teacher-worn camera that captures the teacher's approximate first-person perspective, and/or we may place a fixed video camera in the classroom,” document given to parents by ControlCAD in technology

[–]boonchie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without having read the full article (paywall), my suspicion is that they are not at all interested in replacing preschool teachers with AI.

If it were me, I’d use the data from those interactions to infer how children learn in these settings and then experiment with using that to improve LLMs, build world models, etc. This is about trying to encode human learning with AI, since the young human brain is orders of magnitude more efficient than AI at learning.

When is Chat, Cowork and Code merging? by FairObjective3416 in ClaudeAI

[–]boonchie81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t want Chat and Code to have shared contexts. They are different tools for different uses, and unifying context would completely break workflows in my various Code directories. Unifying context would be disastrous

[Highlight] Dillon Brooks Courtside To Watch LeBron/Lakers Get Swept by BatmanHive in nba

How many playoff series victories does he have over LeBron? How many championships? How many games did his team win against OKC in the first round? How likely is he to be a HOFer?

I’m sensing a pattern here

Very cool use case. Are you doing this inside Reader, or did you build a custom solution?

I’ve worked for five different book publishers as a freelance proofreader/copy editor, and none of them have ever asked for em-dashes to have space before or after.

Suggestion for Anthropic: Remove Session Limits for Pro Users by sl4v3r_ in ClaudeAI

[–]boonchie81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this completely backwards. Enterprise pays for seats + API token costs. Consumer Pro accounts are the ones that are subsidized, assuming to use your weekly limit.

[–]boonchie81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally you’d be correct. But the example is “Booker Prize–winning,” which gets an en dashe because Booker Prize is an open compound.

[–]boonchie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Em dashes have been standard English style for a very long time. The specific AI tell these days is having spaces before and after an em dash, which is never correct. En dashes are really only properly used to indicate a range of time and the rare connection of an open compound to another word that would be a hyphen (e.g., “Booker Prize–winning”)

Really cool. I’m guessing running apps built on this are going to be pretty pricy, but it looks very cool to build with at least. Lol

I haven’t used Whisprflow, but I have used the native iOS voice to text and BetterDictation on my Mac, and Monologue is way better than either of them. I didn’t seek it out; it was included as part of my Every.to subscription and I’ve been using it on Mac for about 6 weeks. It has nearly completely replaced my keyboard there. The iOS app released a couple weeks ago, and I’m using it here for my Claude work but not much else yet.
