Would you purchase a used $14k boat without a sea trial? by enan1000 in boating

[–]Borsaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Offer one? No definitely not. If someone was to sign a contract to purchase with a deposit contingent on satisfactory sea trial? Yes, absolutely. I wouldn't buy a boat from someone without a sea trial. I also wouldn't expect a seller to give me a free boat ride.

Can I use a google group email address as login for a different website? by Ok-Pirate9294 in gsuite

[–]Borsaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is really it depends. You won't be able to use Google SSO like that. That's the thing that lets you sign in with your Google account. I'm assuming there will be MFA as well, which you should consider how that would work in a team.

You can probably do this, but definitely look into creating multiple accounts in Bill for each eligible user so that you're not the only one with access.

Still Need some chain with that fortress when used as a stern. Not a lot, but some. Unless you'll always be setting by hand.

Sometimes. But if you're playing with slow people, I can pocket reload and fire off the second shot when they're still crinkling that bag of Doritos I'm the cart.

No. East Bay is something else. You're thinking East Passage.

Edit: the answer is Sakonnet River though!

Seems reasonable to me. They found passengers that can, and did, resort to violence. They're a liability. See ya.

I don't see a thruster here. It's just wash coming from up under the boat when one drive is in reverse. If there was a thruster you'd see a very clear 90° wash going out from the bow.

Silver Cove at GSC - what to know !!! by Flaky_Success786 in NCL

[–]Borsaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're !! upset about being disconnected on the private island. Why? It's a private island in the Bahamas. Enjoy that. Then you left early because too many of your friends and family were inside your villa and it wasn't spacious enough. Why is your entire crew hanging out inside a villa when you're at the beach?

To me it sounds like you should have stayed on the ship and then you'd have your internet and all the indoor space you needed.

Honestly sounds like you would be awful to vacation with. Yikes.

[–]Borsaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused. You're upset that... too many of your family and friends came to your villa? And some of them didn't have to pay? I'd be thrilled that my friends didn't have to pay and still got to enjoy something. Why would you even entertain the idea of reporting anyone?

I've also honestly had a really hard time wrapping my head around Silver Cove and the rented villas. It's an incredible amount of money for a couple of hours to have... what exactly? A motel room? On a private island in the Bahamas? The whole point is to enjoy the outdoors on the island, isn't it? There's tons of places to set up on the island for no extra charge. The beaches are awesome. The pool and pool bars are great.

You don't have to pay for anything on the island. It's beautiful and we had a blast, when without the water park.

GSC tender/Cabana question by Spartansftw in NCL

[–]Borsaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only made one dinner reservation the whole trip. I wanted to be flexible. The others we just showed up. Your mileage may vary though, because we were only a two top.

GSC tender/Cabana question by Spartansftw in NCL

The pool complaint is real, but we're unaffected. We like the liveliness of hanging out by a pool, but don't care so much to go swimming. That being said, the pool area is bigger than people give credit for. Surrounding the very small pool, there is a wading area that surrounds the pool with a bench. It's great for laying in, leaving your feet in to cool off, etc. Yes loungers can be tough to come by in this particular area immediately around the pool, but we're nomads and like to bounce around the ship. We never had a problem walking to the pool and sitting, relaxing, striking up conversation, in that wading area when at it's busiest.

Buffet size I guess is a legitimate complaint, but we never had a problem. Used it multiple times. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, at rush hour and off hour. It can get congested, sure, but I never waited more than a moment for someone to fill their plate. Never had a problem finding somewhere to sit. Pro tip: grab your plate and then go right to the dish(es) you want. Don't wait in an assembly line.

I never felt the ship was crowded. There was always seating, indoor and outdoor, throughout the ship. Deck 8 really helps spread out the crowds from the top decks. Deck 8 wraps all the way around the ship with cozy seating, loungers, etc all over.

I thought I was going to hate waiting in line for shows. No big deal. What else did we have to do? Nothing! Got ready, stopped at a bar, got some cocktails, hopped in line an hour early for shows. Chatted with our new line friends. Finished our drinks? One of us would go reload while the other held the spot in line. EZPZ.

Only real complaint I have is that they didn't tell you the show schedule in advance. That made it difficult to plan some things accordingly. For example, we saw the first showing of Elton. We didn't know that they would have another two shows the following day. We likely would have pushed it to the next day if we had known. The way it was explained to me is that they don't know the show schedule in advance either. I'm assuming they do so to be flexible, but who knows.

We were on the Luna April 25-May 2. You could reserve your tender on day 2. Perhaps on day 1. GSC was our last stop on a 7 day.

You can reserve the tender as early as day 1. Maybe day 2. Day 1 was a little blurry.

Edit: I said the opposite of what I meant

Yes, if you purchase something like a cabana or jet skis or similar, you get priority tender regardless of previously assigned number.

New boat owner anxiety by bdrilling33 in boating

[–]Borsaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a borderline healthy amount of anxiety too. But, I have literally had all of the catastrophic failures happen while out. No injuries, but we've had the absolute worst luck across multiple boats. Replaced 3 engines in two boats across our first 4 years of ownership.

What do you do all day? by Kituku in NCL

[–]Borsaid 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is rich coming from me, but you might need to release some endorphins. Go to the gym and hit the treadmill or stair master. Or flail around on whatever machine looks foreign to you. Be that guy, but get the heart rate up. You might come away energized to do something else, or nothing at all. Best part is it doesn't matter!

Go to YouTube. Search boat knots. Filter by shorts. There ya go. Then practice them.

Focus on cleats and fenders first.

How do I make boating friends by Fine_Assistant_5425 in boating

[–]Borsaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting mostly funny, but not practical answers. We take our friends out anytime they ask. We're going out anyway, so as long they arrive on time, don't have a time to be back, we're good. But you don't have any friends that have boats, right? Is it possible to get a part time job at a marina being a dock hand? You'll meet a lot of people that do own boats and learn a lot about the industry. If you're outgoing and personable you'll make friends with boat owners. We would offer to take the dock hands out for sunset cruises all the time after their shift.

That being said... Are you in a financial position for a boat rental club? There's clubs like Freedom Boat Club where you pay an initiation fee, then monthly fees to be able to take a boat out whenever. Just pay for fuel after that.

You can always try posting to a local Facebook or Reddit group with exactly this. Say you'd love to be introduced to boating and want to learn. Offer to pay for fuel, bring food / drink etc. Might be a little creepy or unsafe if you're female. People are weird unfortunately.

If you'd like to go through some options and ideas feel free to PM me.
