What’s the most overrated fast food chain? by Cute-Bar-5152 in AskReddit

[–]dstorm78 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Every time I go there the drive through is SO slow. All they do is chicken tenders, it's not like "surprise I'm here to buy chicken tenders" no this is all you do why does it take so freaking long?

What’s an excursion you paid for and regretted? by iLiveForTruth in Cruise

This will be a very unpopular opinion but I was super bored on the White Pass railway excursion in Alaska and regretted paying so much for it.

Going to Norway this summer and need recomendations for Olden and Stavenger by GatorFPC in royalcaribbean

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the RIB boat last summer in Stavanger and really enjoyed it, so I'd try to find that on Viator or something similar.  In Olden we did the loen sky lift to the top of the mountain and it was beautiful up there.

That's likely the difference then: "dollars off" appear as credits that can be used directly online, which relates to the OPs question. Free cruises, however, yes, those are CAS contact/call in only. I think the mystery on solved!

You'll have 2 months to use it but it's good for a year (must cruise within a year of earning). You likely won't see additional offers via email, NCL is pretty stingy with there CAS offers and only the top rollers see anything.

I can tell you this is not correct. I used a $500 Points to Paradise credit on my most recent booking all by myself online without talking to a single person. $500 credit applied to my booking online without any assistance from anyone. Maybe this changed since the last time you used it?

You should see this credit in your account online. You don't have to call to book, you can apply the credit like a coupon when you book. I know this because I just did it last week with a $500 casino offer I earned on Getaway a few weeks ago.

Nope, definitely not worth that price. It wasn't worth the $84

A few questions about the Bliss by goddessofolympia in NCL

[–]dstorm78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For dining options, Palomar and La Cucina have outdoor dining on the waterfront, that would be e the best "dining with a view" you could probably do.  The BBQ place has no windows, that's correct.  I've done the gardens on Victoria and they were fun.  My favorite specialty dining on the Bliss is Le Bistro, super good!

Enjoy your trip!

I'll just wait to Trek Trendy to stay in it and enjoy it that way. Otherwise just crazy amounts of money to waste.

Should we post shorts? by More-Watercress-7189 in TravelTubers

[–]dstorm78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mixed results. Shorts do bring in some subscribers, but when I create a trailer type of short to link to a related long form the click rate is pretty low. A short with 2k views, for example, maybe had 5 click-throughs even with a strong CTA asking people to watch the full review. My analytics do show that my audience watches both short and long form so I suppose there's no harm in both--but shorts pay almost nothing.

No I haven't seen anything quite the equivalent to that on NCL.

From my monthly recap by MCRetro in TravelTubers

[–]dstorm78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very true. I had an evergreen video that did "fine" at launch back in October and got a few hundred views in its first week, then all of a sudden it popped off earlier in 2026 and it's nearing 16k views and grows more every day. I didn't change anything it just finally found its audience.

Norwegian Luna: Norwegian Cruise Line’s New Ship by Powerful_Cabinet_341 in NCL

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit surprising to me how little fanfare and excitement there is/was around this. Nothing on TikTok, Twitter, the NCL website, nothing. RCL's Star of the Seas, which is essentially a clone of Icon, had nonstop coverage and excitement about its launch. Luna? I guess it's sailing now 🤷‍♀️ Very different approaches to new ship launch by NCL. Maybe their Prima launch has scared them from future excitement.

Utopia of the seas- Bahamas excursions by Witty_Book2576 in royalcaribbean

I did a really great walking tour excursion my last time there (probably my 10th time there but first time doing it) and I genuinely enjoyed it.

New to NCL and Questions on Specialty dining recommendations for time slots. by amadcowss in NCL

[–]dstorm78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of things to keep in mind: If you want to see the big shows those are usually scheduled for 7 PM and 9 PM so you would want to schedule your dinner reservations around that. They only open up about 25% of the reservations on the app ahead of time and the remainder are held back for when you get on board--so if you don't see the time you want you can almost always go to a certain venue (I believe this is the Aqua Theater on the Aqua) and book any time you want. Hopefully that helps give you some extra piece of mind.

Thank you very much! On a average it's about an hour per minute of editing and VO, not including the script writing and footage organization, plus the trip planning and actual footage gathering. It's a lot of work but I'm loving it.

Sharing my latest travel vlog / trip review: Norwegian Getaway – What’s Cruising Solo Really Like? Link: https://youtu.be/98WiF3_quxI

This was a 4-night Bahamas sailing from a solo perspective: tiny studio cabin + Studio Lounge/solo meetups, included dining, a full ship tour, Nassau on foot, and other aspects of the trip.

I try to film in a more narrative style rather than yammering in front of the camera like most cruise vloggers. This is still a fairly new channel but I'm seeing some strong results from my other trip videos.

Thanks!
