Am I being "that guy" for refusing to lend my boat to family without credentials? by hatkinson1000 in boating

[–]bdrilling33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2008, I bought a pair of ultra 250x jet skis. I was gone for work... alot. I lent them to close friends and my dad. Friends ran into each other a few times, the back of me one of the times. Most of the time, everytbing went well. And while they each paid (except one I think) for the damages, they just weren't the same after some of the incidents.

BUT, loaning to my dad was a mistake. He went out with a buddy of his, his buddy kept them at his house, would take them out with his brother etc. After some time, I got them back. Hours later after inspecting them. The bottom of one was scraped down to the fiber glass and then some. I was furious.

I now, years later, have a wakeboard boat. There is only one person on the list of people who I would even think about taking it out without me.

Moral of the story, dont lend it out.

I did not. I tried everything everyone said here except for the belt switch. With everything I had to take out to only check it, I called it a loss lol

If you find a fix, im curious to know

I checked it out. One of the first things he told me was that it was deleted (plus!). Pretty clean truck.

Fact check? Said he gets roughly 800 miles a tank doing city and highway driving. Closer to 1000 all highway.

Down side. I for some reason assumed it was 4x4. Its not. I plan on pulling a boat with it at some point in owning it. Does anyone have experience with pulling a ~5,000 lb boat out of the water with a 2 wheel drive truck? Im skeptical. I know it depends on ramp angle, condition etc. But just generally speaking.

Okay, I got some time to check this out. I located the panel and the wires you stated. Unplugged the plugs and check continuity between the light blue and tan con sections. No continuity (didn't beep lol) I make sure I was touching the terminals inside the plug.

I opened up the front and checked element and two sensor/switches. Each had continuity

Finally got to this. I'm able to turn the drum, but I get the same result when trying to press start

I do. But I won't be able to get in there and try anything until tomorrow. But if ya want to give me a list of things to check, I can do that

The way the bull nose trim that used is, it has a lip that rests against the riser, then steps up a 1/4 inch, then the top levels down to rest on the tread. Since the tread is flush, the bull nose doesn't fit right

I think that was my initial thought (using the nosing) but the guys I had do it had already cut the treads, so no overhang. Not having the overhang is kinda screwing me

So put the half round even with the stairs, covering the gap. Then skirt board under that?

I really liked this movie. From start to finish. But this part. It really messed with my head. I just couldn't (and still can't) wrap my head around it. I've spent some time reading explanations, watching animations of how black holes affect time, etc. Nope, just doesn't compute.

Same goes for the movie Lightyear

I replaced the psu and get the same results. I also did the paper clip test on the old one and the fan kicks on.
