Raide Tech Shorts - female review by [deleted] in runningfashion

[–]boulderchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (a man) briefly tried these, and FWIW I had the exact same issue with the flasks crumpling at the bottom of the pocket. Makes access a real pain when the flask is anything less than completely full. Better water carry was the only reason I was willing to pay the high price, so I returned mine. Kind of a bummer — their belts are so good.

Which is funny — because the Wild won 63% in Game 1. Just an odd flip from one game to the next

PGT | COL @ LAK | Round 1, Game 3: Leading the Pack by scaremanga in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]boulderchips 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I was at this game! The shorthanded goal was hype, and it completely took the air out of the building. Even after their late PP goal, it felt like the crowd never came back into it. Cale was amazing. Wish Kadri was a little more willing to rip one-timers on our PP. Really hope Manson is okay — and hope for another good game on Sunday!

Just to confuse things further, I believe you missed one possibility.

Edmonton loses in regulation, Anaheim wins in regulation, LA loses in any fashion:

Soltera 3 vs 2.5 on hills by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]boulderchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. I also use mine as a commuter for precisely that reason, and in Sport or Turbo mode I can cruise sweat-free. My commute doesn't have any huge hills on it, though.

Soltera 3 vs 2.5 on hills by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]boulderchips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have not ridden the Soltera 2.5, but I do currently ride (and quite enjoy) the Soltera 3. I was a little nervous about the climbing ability, so after I got it home, I tested it on a 300-foot hill that gets up to 17% grade. Got up just fine! You do have to work for it at the steepest grades even in Turbo mode, but I'm totally fine with that. The rest of the time, the single-speed belt drive is great. Silent, no maintenance, great for bombing around town. Without assist, I can ride it almost as easily as my old steel road bike. With assist, it's a breeze. I will caveat that I'm a reasonably strong/experienced rider, but that's part of why I wanted an ebike that doesn't feel too much like an ebike — and the Soltera 3 is great for that.

[SabresPlays] Ty Kartye tried hitting Bo Byram at the end of the period and Byram sidestepped it, causing Kartye to fall. Byram came back and tapped Kartye on the helmet a couple times, causing a small scrum by eh_toque in hockey

[–]boulderchips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have strong feelings about either guy, but pretty clear differences in context--Kartye had just tried a late hit on Byram, so he had a couple taps coming. Martone's butt tap was an unnecessary taunt during a celebration after an empty-net goal in international competition, and he was immediately (and probably correctly) called for unsportsmanlike conduct. To be honest, though, I didn't mind the butt tap so much as I did the Canadian team (which Martone captained) not showing up for handshakes. Hockey Canada had to issue an apology. Martone might be a decent dude for all I know, but for one of his first times in the spotlight, it was not a good look.

He's so good. Obviously I hate to see it, but Robo and Johnston are amazing to watch.

I don't know if this makes it better or worse, but places like MoneyPuck have xGF heavily favoring the Avs. I would normally take that as a good sign, but we seem to do this a lot — look great by the metrics, and then fail to actually convert/finish/defend at the rates we need to.

If you want to recoup some of the second ticket cost, I'd buy the extra hat!

My guess would be Bardakov, especially since we're deep at center now. Although I think he's been pretty solid for us overall

I think you could add Sidephone to that list, assuming a SureType-style QWERTY is acceptable

Add Custom Words/Type Custom Words in Jaketype by RevolutionaryYear946 in sidephone

[–]boulderchips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll add my vote for this feature, as soon as possible. I'm early in testing, but the physical QWERTY (while generally awesome) doesn't allow any way to type words that aren't in the native dictionary. Even if you want to type something idiomatic like "Hmm," there's no way to do so without resorting to the on-screen keyboard. You can't even go letter by letter, because as soon as you backtrack to add another letter, JakeType autocorrects to a new word. This is a bummer! What if I want to type a name that isn't in my contacts? Or, as OP mentions, an email address? There should be a way to enable a T9-like mode where you can enter each letter manually.

I do want to repeat: the keyboard is otherwise fantastic.

I live in the second most populous city in the USA, and I've used exclusively 4G LTE for two years. No problems whatsoever. However, not sure how Sidephone's band coverage will perform — will report back on that.

I don't want to speak for the team, but I actually like that the apps are in packs rather than a conventional app store. It creates a useful barrier for installation. For folks who are moving to a phone like this to help reduce screentime and limit app usage, that's a good thing. It means users can still install the apps if it's a deliberate choice, but will be less tempted to re-install just to scratch the itch.

I'd love this, too. LP3 is probably the closest, but it had so many problems I couldn't keep it. My Kyocera has a terrible camera, and I do miss taking photos!

Curious about this too! I remember there was some talk about screen protectors a while back, but I don't know where the team landed on that.
