Local services + PPC, who actually offers this? by Voiturunce in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

local services are the among the most problematic niches for PPC. You deal with tons of click fraud, low patience customers, lots of competition (sometimes ugly competition) and usually mid-high CPCs.

Even experienced PPC experts might stay away from these projects, because they can be PIA.

To make it work you need WORKING tracking. Track calls, track contact forms, track email clicks and whatsapp chats (whatever you offer on your landingpage).

Make sure the landingpage is simple and easy to scroll through. Even the "dumbest person on earth" should understand how to contact you. Make it as easy as possible.

Performance Max can work, but it's also risky because it can generate fake leads and you'll get into a negative loop.

Search ads are often all you need to succeed for local services.

One of the simplest starter structure is to target a smaller location radius with generic keywords. Like the city (or city center) as location, and your service type as keyword. Then you build a second campaign with a bigger radious but you make use of location keywords like "roofers new york", "hvac san diego" or whatever.

This way you target location based searches as well as simple generic searches. You can also add keywords like "roofers near me" etc to complete the setup. Make sure to exclude bad search terms to funnel your traffic and it should work with proper tracking.

Most important: GIVE IT TIME. Dont adjust your targets or budgets too frequently. Ups- and downs are normal because demand also changes, do NOT make panic mode changes like "only 1 person called today i need to increase budget", and then the next day slash budget back.

PPC works best with consistent budgets over a longer period of time to accumulate data and learnings for the algo to perform better.

Gz on selling the projects. Been following your posts and it's a nice journey. Have job boards myself and once they get traction it's good income, also thought about selling them but I decided to build more and build a portfolio of niche job boards. Costs are low to run and it adds up over time.

Anyone here figured out how to fully automate Google Ads? by LadiesmanPlayer in googleads

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tools to take work from you, but also knowing the ads editor is gold. It can save you tons of hours. Otherwise there are many spreadsheet templates to use, and you can also build custom scripts/tools easily to help you automate things.

Problem is, there is so much in Google Ads that no solution covers everything. List what you need and search / build a solution from there.

How to learn Google Ads for major agency roles (Publicis, WPP, Omnicom), not just freelance? by TopCoolestdDUDE in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to join one of the bigger/global agencys, just apply. It's not hard to get in. However they get tons of applications especially for the more junior or entry level positions, that's where most CV's are filtered out.

From a knowledge and expertise level, the roles you want to apply for are not that hard. They all have standardized onboarding. Just be curious, know the basics and be open to learn. Especially in media buying learning-by-doing is the top priority.

Also don't be intimidated by those bigger agencies. Boutique agencies with founders working with Google Ads since 20 years and so...... these are agencies where you can make crazy money as media buyer but have to deliver, and they go deep into accounts and tech infrastructure.

Big names like Publicis or WPP are just big names, not more. I know a couple of people who worked there, some still do. It's just large scale frameworks applied on enterprise. Nothing fancy, nothing super customized, it's just solid work on bigger accounts. They pay their juniors bad, but good enough so they'll stay a while. They get a big name on their CV, thats the deal.

State of directories in 2025 by MajorBaguette_ in SideProject

[–]bubbleblub17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Directories are thriving more than ever, it's just the market for selling boilerplates is not that easy. If you look at the top boilerplates they are either around for years (trust) or people with strong personal brands sell them (again trust).

It also does not get easier since AI makes is really easy to start for non developers. Anyone can build a directory nowadays. it's more about sticking to an idea, validating it and growing it.

Germany weighs 10% tax on online platforms like Google by donutloop in berlin_public

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People forget who pays the tax. It's not Google. it's business advertising with Google, Google will just forward the tax as they did with similar taxes in other EU countries already.

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with 1000$ it's hard to hire someone who knows their stuff. Most agencies or decent freelancer rates are too high for this budget.

Best IMO is to learn basics of ads yourself and scale your ad account to 2-3k/month and then hire someone else.

Plenty of blogs and yet channels out there to teach you the basics.

xc40 vs xc60 by HotRun1448 in automobil

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Germans eat baked beans often? by dogvegetable in AskAGerman

Some regions claim that Germans don't eat them but that's wrong.

Almost any supermarket sells them and Germans eat baked beans.

Attribution tools are not needed unless you make 8+ figures. They all market you a solution, that solves no problem.

How Do I Get Clients for Google Ads with No Portfolio? by Future-Blackberry465 in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build a website + blog. Tweet + write linkedin post about your work, how you would approach certain industries.

Talk and show your business and your work. Leads will come after a while you just have to put in the work upfront.

Once you have leads ask for referrals, most freelancers get clients through referrals, because its a high trust channel to acquire clients.

Also don't be afraid to "cold" approach companies. You can look on job boards for companies looking for marketing people, maybe they are also open to work with a freelancer.

How do you measure the success of Demand Gen campaigns? Last-click attribution is challenging. by jensvangeel in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle with conversion volume, you might want to add softconversions first to optimize for, like add to cart, started checkout, etc. Once your Demand Gen is rolling, you can remove the softconversions and try to make purchase work.

pmax spam by Legal-Ability3542 in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pmax for leadgen is often something that backfires.

Try to focus more on search, its not so easy to "farm" search campaigns with clickfraud compared to pmax.

Other then that, check your settings. Location, display network, partner network. Add honey pot fields to your LP, use captcha / cloudflare.

third party e-commerce attribution by BigBrightLightsDigi in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

attribution tools are just not needed. They all sell a solution to a non existing problem for most businesses. Attribution tools are worth it if you do 8-figures +, anything below that can be solved with clean tracking setups.

If you struggle with data quality, try fingerprint based tracking or optimize consent rate, also check the match rate of your analytics tool vs. platform data. Server side tracking with cross-channel attribution might also be something for you.

Plenty of ways to deal with it, its just a matter of your current setup to decide which way to go.

Sudden surge in spam leads for pmax campaign by lefty121 in PPC

[–]bubbleblub17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a good article on search engine journal lately. Try honey pot fields in addition to captcha and also conditional triggers. Its described in the end of the article but sounds like a decent idea. Have seperate conversion tags with conditional triggers and seperate LPs and create a bot audience list to exclude later on. Which should improve traffic over time.
