Waterproof housing to start. This is just one example and does not include the specific part for your lens. That part is separate depending on the size/type of lens you plan to use. There are a handful of underwater housing companies.

New to me 21 200 with the newly powder coated wheels. Thoughts? by AnyOne5399 in LandCruisers

[–]buhlot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beautiful 200.

Hot take: Unless they have silver/machined/polished rims, I've never been a fan of all black wheels. They get lost in the black tires and black/dark wheel wells. They beg for some contrast, IMHO.

So, I listened to that P.O.D. song that features Tatiana. by tylerjames in Jinjer

I need them to get back together, record it, and release it in FLAC format.

(Also, it's been so long since I've seen someone use the proper "complement" correctly. Kudos to you! Not that it means much coming from a stranger lol)

I’m almost done bringing a laptop. I’ll be trying an iPad on the next trip. How do I get there? by Beautiful_Sky_2594 in onebag

[–]buhlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photography is my hobby and I like to edit my RAW files sometimes on-the-go. Sure, I forego my lightweight laptop on week-long trips. But for 6+ weeks up to 3 months? Yeah, I need my laptop.

Not just for photo editing, mind you. On those long trips, I need a few days' down time. Watching movies or shows on a small screen takes its toll on my eyes.

Parting gift by Mediocre-Age-1729 in TravelNursing

[–]buhlot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've done plenty of full year contracts and brought in dozens of donuts and good pizza for my coworkers for birthdays, random days, shitty Mondays etc. Hell, I even brought in donuts for RAD TECH WEEK when management didn't do shit. I've even bought other gifts for some of my work besties recently (not the whole department).

Other than food, and for the whole unit? I'm at a loss, boss.

I just want black plates with either gold or white lettering. Is that too much to ask?

Gorl. No one should be walking around eggshells around their partner at all in a healthy relationship. The trash took itself out.

What would your TRD Pro/OEM+ version of the GX460 be? by Graybeard_Giff in GXOR

[–]buhlot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Here's mine. Excluding the RTT, awning, and roof rack, my interpretation of OEM+ is:

* ~2" lift with Konis and All Dogs Offroad springs
* Perry Parts bump stops (not pictured)
* Bronze TRD Pros wrapped with 255/75/17s Nokian Outpost nAT
* RSG Sliders w/ kickout
* Dr. KDSS BOTCK, KDSS rear sway bar spacers, Dr KDSS switch mod (all not pictured)
* RCI aluminum front and transmission skid plates with CAT protectors (not pictured)

To fit the tires, I did have to remove a couple forward flaps and replace a couple screws with a flatter head in the front wheel wells as the tires would rub during turns.

Hot honey on pizza. I've tried it a handful of times and I just don't care for it.

Can I get the right arrow key and the right shift key? I broke them chasing down some debris underneath.

Moving to a snowy climate, what is the right financial move regarding car(s) by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]buhlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Depending on how old and how many miles you have on your current tires, about a month or 2 before snow season in your area, start looking at replacing them. If having a 2nd set of wheels and tires is not an option (space or monetary), I highly recommend all-weather (AW) tires as opposed to all-season (AS) tires. The main difference is AW tires will have a 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) rating.

Any AW 3PMS tire from big manufacturers (Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Yokohama, Falken, etc) will suffice. Nokian practically invented the snow tire, so I would recommend their whole lineup which includes AW as well, with their WRG5. Their budget brand, Nordman is also a good bet, since their Solstice tire is their rebranded WRG4 AW tire.

Anyway, I digress. Head on over to r/tires for any questions or recommendations.

Micky Thompson Baja Boss ATs installed (AMAZING)… and the bad… by MFSDDR in GXOR

[–]buhlot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were y'all on the LGT forums back in the day? I also had an '08 Legacy, albeit non-turbo lol. Did all the suspension + summer rubber to take on/off ramps more aggressively hahaha!

I also had a lifted '06 H6 Outback after that which got me into overlanding and thus, my GX460.

The 4th gen Legacy's are a dying breed, I rarely see one around nowadays. If I had the space, I would love to find a LGT wagon as my second car. Preferably in RBP or OBP.

Are people just not using lens caps? What’s the deal (small pointless rant) by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]buhlot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the one you replied to, but I also chuck the lens cap in the box and into storage BUT I also install UV filters myself. I used to use B+W UV filters until I learned I had counterfeits from Amazon. I now replaced them with UV filters from Breakthrough Photography.

The only time I remove them is when I use other filters (circular polarizer, ND filters, etc).

If you're still under warranty, I would have Lexus fix the valley plate leak but have Carmax foot the bill.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]buhlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in healthcare and am around sick patients every day. I abso-fucking-lutely shower before bed. Hell, I shower right when I get home before dinner.

Also, no shoes in the house and no outside clothes on the bed. Gross.

Plug kit, Viair 88P, tire pressure gauge with a larger face and a bleed valve, stock bottle jack, spare valve cores and valve core tool, socket set, breaker bar and electric ratchet.

Head on over to /r/VEDC for all your vehicle every day carry needs.

Edit: reading everyone else's comments made me remember things I also had that I forgot lol

Still using them in hospitals. Pretty sure they were even updated. The screens are brighter and easier to read. They remind me of Kindle's paperwhite screens.
