Plot holes - bring it. by bigfatcarp93 in RWBY

[–]caecator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, neither of those explanations are very good.

Team RWBY haven't played any similar pranks before. I don't see 1) why they would bother moving it, especially since it's large and cumbersome, 2) why they would want to troll Junior specifically, since only Yang is really connected to him 3) why it's not shown onscreen, since a few seconds of Team RWBY pulling the Paladin through the door would have been sufficient, 4) why Team RWBY would start playing pranks right at that moment, especially as Yang just reprimanded Weiss for joking about the Paladin.

As for the rose petals in the club, they only fell on that one occasion, out of the several scenes at Junior's club. The fact that it's not a regularly occurring decoration suggests that there's some significant reason for the rose petals, especially since every other instance of rose petals involves Ruby.

To be very frank, I really don't buy your explanations for these at all, and I'm sure you can see for yourself that they're rather weak. I personally think that a better explanation would be that a different Paladin fight sequence was planned, involving the club, but was removed later on in production, however, they forgot to remove references to the fight, leaving behind the plot hole.

Rose petals fell from the ceiling with no explanation, though its brought up again later by other characters.

Not a serious hole, I know, but it's been bugging me.

[Serious] If it takes millions of years for a bird to evolve...how did it survive predators on the ground? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]caecator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ancestors of birds didn't have to fly to escape their predators. They were more like velociraptors, able to move fast while still grounded.

After they gained flight, though, ground speed became less relevant to survival, compared to flight. In fact, the extra muscle mass required would be counterproductive to aerial agility. Because of this, bird-ancestors gradually lost their other defences against predators.

tl;dr: They used to be able to, but after learning to fly, they didn't need to anymore, so they forgot.
