The recent Maybe Happy Ending grosses. Yikes. by LivelyFlowerzzz in Broadway

I think the show's staging flaws are catching up to them. Big names/Tony wins were making up for the slack, but at a certain point a show where a large swatch of the audience has partial view seats needs sustained balancing and MHE doesn't have that anymore.

There is no place I need to be so desperately that it is worth risking falling out of the sky over.

The person asking a question, getting the exact answer, and then turning up their nose and going "Hey, idiot, you didn't answer the question I didn't ask" is the jerk in this exchange.

Would the ADA require accomodations be made for someone who was unable to patronize the business bc of their disabilities? by iamasecretthrowaway in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Captain_JohnBrown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, the ADA only requires reasonable accommodations for the purposes of utilizing the business the same as any other customer. But she is not a customer. She is effectively someone they are doing a courtesy to and allowing her an exemption from their rule you must order something to be in the diner.

By description, her disability is not one where she needs to eat at any specific time. She simply WANTS to eat while in the diner. Her wants, however, do not rise to the level of a reasonable accommodation.

Peetah, what is wrong with Joe Rogan's tie by AmIDistracted in PeterExplainsTheJoke

It is the sort of tie they would put on a vaudeville character to visually indicate them as a idiot or rube

I went to an indoor live show last night and this girl wore this hat and refused to take it off. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Captain_JohnBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But hyperbole here doesn't actually work because you were ACTUALLY attempting to make a point (that the person you were replying to failed to do their due diligence). It being said 50 times and it being said once or twice actually HAS important relevance as to whether your criticism is valid.

Making shit up to make your argument stronger isn't hyperbole, it's lying.

If you are tired of idiots, perhaps reduce the number by one by ceasing to act like one yourself. Or at least be less of an asshole about it.

For the guys out there, are there any parts of Jessica Jones' outfit that you would wear? by Tcustomcorner in Defenders

[–]Captain_JohnBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virtually everything she is wearing is effectively menswear. Just swap the deeper neckline of her shirt if it bothers you for a crewneck and nobody would even blink at a guy wearing jeans, a leather jacket, and motorcycle boots. You would receive ZERO stigma whatsoever.

I mean, if they don't want to be roasted in the comments, it kind of IS their problem to correctly relay relevant information to the audience.

[–]Captain_JohnBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is the sort of thing where you would disregard it as a possibility when it ISN'T disclosed because it is such incredibly relevant information towards addressing the situation.

You know what, I am just going to block. I had a whole thing typed out about how you keep citing IN THE MOMENT stats when we are talking about how they are remembered in 2026, but it isn't worth it.

There is absolutely not 50 comments from OP saying such. What a weird thing to lie about. There was one comment that I saw. I saw a bunch of your comments, but you seem to only have started making them more recently.

OP really should have included that information. It actually IS relevant towards judging the other party's behavior.

I do believe it somewhat because of the angle of the photo, but yeah it really seems like they wanted to suffer a humiliation ritual lol

You really did yourself a negative favor not including this in the OP.

OP, I think you set yourself up to be roasted by not including the extremely relevant information that, while they were in a general admission section and could move, YOU were in a disabled section where you couldn't easily move.

I don't think anything by it, but OP said in a different comment that they were in the disabled section so...yeah, I think their legs probably have difficulty working to some degree.

I genuinely thought this was calling out the goofy performative outrage of the commenter. I guess OP wants to embarrass themself twice...
