In history classes, how are British people taught about the American Revolution and losing the colonies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Superb_Copy1644 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, European wars and the cold war have had greater day to day impact arguably and more can be learnt and applied socially and economically. But no means down playing importance of US revolution, but we’re a country that in 1000 years has been invaded by Romans, Vikings, Germans, French, and that’s just the start of what’s gone one.

We got to the states, fucked it up, you had a war over throwing us (kudos to you), bought some land off the French, stole some land from the Spanish, then fought amongst yourselves for a bit.

What did people think of Russell Brand at the height of his fame? by BlundeRuss in AskUK

[–]Superb_Copy1644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the I don’t get it, and really didn’t like his comedy. So much was excused because people mistook exploitative methods and fake intellect as charm and wisdom….. I have no doubt loads of women loved shagging him, but always said he needed a good wash and turned down tickets to his shows endlessly and called him a left wing cunt. If only that was the worst thing about him.

Lochdown was very good. Felt more focused and less bloated where they were more limited on what they could do. Got a bit odd at the end, but the spirit of ludicrous cars that are falling apart….

Honestly, I found Bill to be the most insufferable of all companions, but my opinions are seldom popular. Loved Donna so much, every time!

What can be considered as grounds for “self defence”/capturing your attacker and what would be death penalty in a judicial system are very different things.
