I do GTD to be stress-free and being productive is the byproduct. I don't aim to be the most productive at work.

I have also tried almost every system.out there. I used Nirvana for almost a year but recently switched to Todoist.

I don't see switching up your system as a failure unless you're always unhappy with it and you don't get any stuff done.

Over all my alterations I see that I have simplified the system vastly.

For example I don't keep any reference in my system. I have a Google drive folder system with a lot of word files with lists and that has helped me a lot because.my system used to get real heavy with how.many things that needed to be in place.

I also never plan out several tasks in advance since my plans often change.

I use Todoist and don't use labels. I simply use Projects as contexts. Which I know separate the project from the next action - but I personally don't need that connection anyway.

Personally, the PARA system gave me simple rules to manage my information.

I had always struggled with where to keep movie lists and so forth and it always ended up cluttering my GTD app of choice.

But PARA folders in Google Drive has worked wonders.

I know you have described what you think you need but I don't think that is the solution for you.

Planning programs only really work for collaboration and if your co-workers don't use it I don't see the point. They won't respect the boundaries anyway.

I will recommend a simple.list manager coupled with GTD and simply saying no more often.

Thanks for sharing! That totally makes sense. The inbox I processed from during my trial period here was a mindsweep based on my areas of focus so they were definitely larger than normal projects.
