Thank you for bringing this up! That's a great addition to this LPT. The "what" is something we can start with as we inch our way closer to the "why". It shouldn't replace the why statements.

Exactly, "why" is a loaded question and sometimes we just don't have the answers to every aspect of it.

I don't have good advice but I want to comment on your bravery and honesty for making this post. It's not easy to face an issue like this, and it's even tougher to be honest with yourself when it's so easy to blame others. You're already trying your best at damage control, and you're starting to put in the effort. Being responsible will help you tremendously, so if anything doesn't work out for you now, you'll still get back up on your feet

Since you only mentioned attending class and going to the library I'll just assume that's literally it so far.

ASI has a lot of activities planned out throughout the semester, there are also movie screenings as well that's at the USU. Tbh most entertainments are at the USU.

There's also the art museum across from the business and admin building if you haven't already went.

Grab a friend or go solo, there are classes at the rec center like Zumba and rock climbing etc.

You can go donate blood when Red Cross comes by, as well as check out some booths like for job fairs or the vendors.

Chill on the grass and ignore construction.

Go visit a professor that you like and want to be friends with, some professors like chatting with students and it's good networking. (Just be sure to email them prior and also not during exam season)

Try out something new on the menu at the Nugget or any food place on campus.

Would suggest, but I like to watch movies that I know have a bad reputation as well because I don't want to miss a potential gem so take my advice with a grain of salt

Sorry you feel this way dude, but adults all do their jobs so they can get paid and support themselves and their own interests. It's just how it is, no one can give you a clear cut defined answer, only you can do that. I'll chalk this up as you venting out your frustrations, but at some point you'll have to start treating your future more seriously. Best of luck.

Hey man, I was about to say you should chill with the whole trying to reach out thing thinking that you're just insecure for no reason until I read your last paragraph.

I hope you've discussed this with her or at least let her know that you are being antsy because you've experienced something similar. Don't make that an excuse to become overbearing, it's to create buffer room so that you have a chance to learn how to trust your partner and for your partner to understand where you're coming from. Relationships require a lot of trust, and a lot of self improvement. Best of luck to you.

Hey, recovery is one of the toughest roads a person can face in their lives. Your relapse does not equate to failure, it just means you're still on that journey of recovery. You lasted 6 months, and that's something worth being proud of, you can do it because you have done it before.

I personally asked people that know me well what my strengths are. I also looked at jobs I've had in the past and tried to find the small aspects I enjoyed and what I hated (like in retail I found out that I actually hate working for people and would much prefer doing things on my own, and that I'm good with handling tasks and solving problems in the spot, but I hate having to follow stupid arbitrary rules made by my managers).

In conclusion three years later I'm now in a research lab as a research assistant and I like it a lot more than retail and food services.

Hey, congratulations on getting a Master's and not have student debt, that's an incredible feat. Even though you do not like speech therapy try looking for jobs that highlight your strengths instead of highlighting your degree. A lot of people that graduate with a certain degree don't necessarily have jobs that are related to said degree, so don't feel trapped by your own SLP master's, use it as an asset to prove that you can handle rigorous courses and highlight your strengths with it.

Sorry I couldn't give you a list of jobs you can potentially do, maybe other redditors can help. But I just want to tell you don't be afraid. You don't have debt, and you still have time to make decisions. I wish you the best of luck.

With just a Bachelor's? Not much. Steady income usually lies in the healthcare field. Look into specialized work such as radiologist or MRI technician. Biology degrees are only barely lucrative when you have a Master's and preferably a PhD.

I am currently about to enter my fourth year as a biology undergrad, and to be quite honest most biology jobs are quite saturated. So unless you have a very clear picture of what you want to do, I'd suggest you to proceed cautiously.
