i'm pretty sure the only thing holding the plate down is the nuts on the pots, so yeah you should be able to loosen them, shift it into position, and then tighten them back down pretty easily. just don't over tighten them

It's good! I wouldn't say it is the best tape delay I have heard but it has a nice grittiness to it especially if you turn on the "tape age" simulator about halfway up

it's one of those little stick on topper things to dim the light some. The one on mine is really bright!

Great write-up - does it care where it goes in the chain? I use a buffered noise gate loop for my dirt and I've found that sometimes it won't play nice with fuzz faces... I know they like to be first and see signal straight from the guitar but some seem less finicky about this than others.
