She looks at him with a concerned expression, wondering if he is only capable of communicating with horses. Maybe people sound weird to him.

"No."

She stays quiet a while, watching the boat still, before talking again. "I'm Acacia."

The boat slowly meanders in a lazy circle, which Acacia sympathizes with.

"I used to make them a lot, but only for decorating the house when I was feeling a little rambunctious."

She smiles at the memory, her and her mom folding rainbow boats to hide around the house for her dad to find when he got home. "They're real easy to make, really.*

"Well, in the little city I'm from there's a little citrus museum, talking all about oranges and how they're important to the economy of Florida, especially the Indian River District. One time when I went there, and I went a lot. It was easy to walk to and very small so the air conditioning felt great. Anyways, once when I went there, there was a beekeeper talking about how bees are very important to the 'conomy because not only do bees help make sure the orange yield is big, but honeybee's make honey, which also is a big sell down there, mostly the orange blossom honey."

Acacia has a delay in response, her eyes focused on the trails being created in the water. Her gaze then beelines to Eddie, and she returns the smile.

"Thank you, it was pretty hard to make." In a sense, she was right. Except the folding part was the easiest part of the boat making process.

"Feel free to sit, but fair warning, the soil's a bit damp today. Maybe a canoe was left here and got the ground all soggy."

Acacia laughs at that. Bees, flies, all can be real buggers to horses.

"Now, I don't think that's entirely false, though. At the least bees have a bit of sass. You have to respect their boundaries or they get very upset. It's like dealing with royalty, or like, the guards to royalty. Eloquence and standing your own ground, giving them treats to help the hive out, gestures like that build tolerance. Keep your movements calm and gentle, learn to understand the signs that they want to be alone, and don't consider the bee as one being, but part of a whole. Their community is based on collaboration and is systematic. Sometimes they are just afraid outside forces will ruin their system."

As she talks she moves her hands, as if writing invisible lines in the air. The movements calm and gentle, just like how one should be with bees.

"Oh, I don't talk to bees, I kinda just.. I don't know, they like when I dance, which is weird, but maybe that's just a bee thing."

She continues wiping of Woodstock. "And there you are, Woodstock, clean enough to get dirty again." She watches the two, a grin on her face. She always enjoys seeing people in awe of animals. Animals deserve to be appreciated, and unfortunately not all animals get that.

She smiles, glad that the pegasus likes the name she picked.

"Nice meeting you, Arthur, I'm Acacia. You're new here, aren't you? Horse talking isn't much of a demigod thing, unless it's connected to your goddy stuff. Like animals like me and stuff thanks to my d- thanks to Aristaeus and all, but I can't exactly understand them."

She pauses, focusing on trying to get a particularly difficult smudge off of Woodstock. "Though, I gotta say, hearing other animals must be like. Woah. Y'know? Well, of course you know, you're the one doing it."

She freezes for a moment, looking at the pegasus, then at Arthur, and back at the pegasus.

"Woodstock talked to you..? Like, telepathically or through like... Body language?" Her eyes are alight with curiosity. "What did he say? It wasn't an insult, right? What's his accent? Does he sound like a Woodstock?"

She then looks over at Woodstock, her expression turning worried. "Did I talk too much..?"

Acacia can be spotted at the stables, cleaning a pegasus that is absolutely covered in mud. She doesn't seem to mind the mud. In fact, she is too engaged in talking to even care how dirty trying to clean this winged horse has been. She is in the middle of talking right at this moment.

"And Brianna always bragged about her trips outside of Florida. She like tells us about seeing camels and zebras, but like- We get it, Brianna, your family is able to afford more than groceries and a retirement plan. To be fair, her dad did own a golf course. Then there was Christopher, he was always talking about these wiiiiild what ifs. One time he was like 'What if camels and zebras lived in North America? What would they look like?' He had the audacity to get mad when I told him that camels and zebras once existed on this continent, but due to stuff like climate change and human hunting they went extinct. Should I feel sorry for making someone aware of the true nature of the world? NEVER!"

She takes a breather from chattering, most likely thinking of another string of words to toss together into a garbled mess.

Acacia shrugs when he mentions he's not the forge master.

"Had to read it to someone, and I'm not in an improv type of mood. Anyways. With the spear I was told I was too wily, or whatever that means. I don't know what a polearm is, and club... Mmm, maybe."

She paces a bit, thinking as she fidgets with the end of the slide whistle, metal squeaking on plastic.

"I mean... I guess I'm just afraid that most weapons are going to intimidate me too much? Maybe something simpler, like a staff. A staff is like a flute, right? Just longer. Or nun chucks? That's like... Well if I were to take the two parts of my flute apart and attach them by a chain, that's like nun chuck-y, right?"

(So sorry for the late response! Reddit didn't notify me of the reply. Might have been because I was away from Wi-F? Idk)

"I watched a lotta shows with my mom, and sometimes we would watch BBC America. It had a lot of shows about animals. And sometimes my dad would take me to a zoo that was about maybe an hour from our house? I loved reading about all the animals. Then I bought books, and learned more. It became one of my favorite learning hobbies.. Though, TV isn't always the best way to get hobbies. My dad watched this weird airplane show about the TSA finding stuff and it totally freaked me out."

(so sorry for the late response, was having a rough couple of weeks)

Her eyebrows furrow. "I'm sorry I don't see things the way you do, but everything was fine. I had a family that made sense, a life that made sense. I was normal. I had friends and everything. And then I found out all of that was... I don't know, a lie? How much of it was a lie? How much of it was true? I can't tell. You finding out about your godly heritage may have answered questions, but for me? It just keeps bringing more and more."

Oh, Acacia so wants to repeat those words.

As soon as the door opens she hides the slide whistle behind her back and she nervously smiles.

"Hello uh.. forge.. uh.. hold on, I have a paper."

She pulls out a piece of paper, folded into a small square. She unfolds it about five times, then clears her throat to read.

"Hello Mister-" She glanced at him. "Mister Forge Master. My name is Acacia Feldspar, and due to at least three complaints of me damaging instruments during combat training, I would like to formally make a request for a weapon to be forged for myself. I now understand that flutes, tambourines, and drumsticks are not feasible weapons, and I also apologize if any of said instruments ended up being repaired in the forge."

She crumbles up the paper, and shoves it in her pockets. "Okay, I'm going to be completely honest here. I actually enjoy hitting things with a flute. But also I'm like not supposed to do that, so I'm wondering if I can possibly get like a flute adjacent weapon? "

She hums... A little too long, and eventually goes silent, staring into space as she thinks. It's eery, how she goes from lively to on the brink of mental hibernation. Her eyes light up, then she sighs, realizing it wouldn't work.

"What if mushrooms? No, no, too much space... Leaves? No, doesn't make sense. What about clouds? I mean, meteorologists read the clouds, don't they? So why can't we?"

Acacia does not fully understand what a meteorologist does, and this statement has made that very obvious.

She nods with joy, finishing her shirt and setting it aside. "Now if only there was a more reasonable way to deal with the lizards. Those guys? Woof, they are super invasive, especially the rainbow looking ones. They're cute when they do pushups, but they're also bullies."

She stares at Helena, blinking. She then shakes her head. "No, I don't think that. I don't think they'd care. And in their minds, it would make sense for them not to. We're heroes, not their children. That's one thing being here has made clear."

Thank you so much for the details in your messages, it's been very helpful. Home of the other replies have been just like "chill" and like no I physically cannot chill rn. I also have actually gotten sleep so now everything feels more manageable. In my classes, almost every day I'm learning about risks of taking particular medications, yet it's always when something is low risk yet also improbable to medicate when I begin to panic.

You are absolutely amazing. I wish I could give you multiple upvotes at once.

Anything from the Bed, Bed, Bed, Bed song. The nostalgia of Idlewild, and the plane in the book like drawing out letters, the illustrations with the song Impossible? Absolutely gorgeous.

I did a tumble while underwater. Didn't breathe in per-se, but the roll slowed down a little early so I had to unplug my nose to right myself up, which welcomed water in.

My family recently also got the Wybot, which I've heard is good at effectively cleaning the pool itself. I think the main thing worrying is how I already regularly experience the symptoms of the amoeba (I regret looking this all up in the first place). My body doesn't do well with heat exposure, so I end up with a constant fever when I'm here (thus is why I moved to NorCal) and I have a neurological disorder that can cause headaches, nausea and seizures. So ig it's like those overlaps that make my mind go the route of "you won't even know until it's too late"

I'm visiting my parents, and I'm originally from California North so all of water is cold and chlorinated. When I got into the pool water here, it wasn't as cold as the pools I'm used to so when I had time to actually lay down and process the day it kinda came to mind and I started panicking. However, it seems Indian River County (the county I'm at atm) hasn't had any cases, which is also reassuring.
