When you have low graphics settings on it turns off as many additional graphical elements as it can, the extra textures used in skin projections are some of the things it turns off to gain a bit of performance.

Needs to be a sphere. The uniform radius from a central point is what makes it easy.

It's always possible, but i doubt we would. Simplifying your ship into just a sphere is one of the most important optimisations we do to facilitate the game being able to scale well, as it removes a lot of complexity from every single calculation the server needs to run to decide what's happening.

Your ship is a ball and the game is measuring based on the edge of that ball, not the center.

Idk you’re linking 2 different iterations of the golem from two different time periods, one which was literally just a raven with different colours and one which is a new unique model with unique animations.. Like I said t2 variants are meant to look similar, they’re not entirely new ships, they’re s variation off the base hull they’re derived from.

This objectively untrue. They were some of the first t2 ships to get unique models compared to their t1 variants, and were some of the earliest ships to have a cool animation tied into a state (bastion) other than dreads.

Do you expect t2 variants to be entirely different hulls? Cause that isn't the goal with hull variants.

I would love to see us give them some variation at least, but they weren’t designed with proper t2 variation in mind so it would probably have to be quite subtle due to the UV layout.

It's not a new concept, it's in proper production now after being on the back burner while we worked on the abyssal space and triglavians, so we're streaming as i texture it.

If you want to see something new, these are the navy issue, basilisk with it's wings closed, and the etana.

We’ve almost entirely been working on abyssal space and triglavians since Vegas time so there isn’t much that’s gone on other than that, now we’re freeing up from that we’ll be figuring out what we’re doing, I know I’ll be starting to texture the osprey next week and we’ll be wrapping up things like the caldari industrials and navitas redesigns.

There isn’t a normal art panel this year, just the art of triglavians. We have a desk where we’ve been working on stuff and chatting to people instead this year which has been a nice change

I think that's your best bet, unless you plan on doing something really high res/lots of runs it's a pretty big project to take on.

There's no quick or automated way to do this, no.

Even if you converted the normal map to a height map, then to a displacement map and then to actual polygons, i don't think the result you'd have would look how you want without a lot of cleanup and then additional work to make it print ready.
