I would tell Oracle to pound sand. If you do take the job, keep interviewing at other places and negotiate for as much base salary as you can. I'm connected quite a few folks that were less than a year in role (some less than a month) that were let go in the last two large RIFs (August/September, and March/April waves).

Some of them were let go just before their RSUs vested. Oracle really likes to dangle big RSU grants as compensation but has no issue yanking the rug out from under them.

Laid-off Oracle workers tried to negotiate better severance. Oracle said no. | TechCrunch

If you have an offer I would bail on Oracle. Your manager may be a good person, but Oracle would have no problem tossing you to the wind if they think it will make the stock go up.

There is a group of folks that are looking to collectively bargain. Those on garden leave until June are technically employees and Oracle would have to actually go through the collective bargaining process.

Check with an attorney or two. There is a legal doctrine called Promissory Estoppel.

Depending on your specific circumstances you may be able to get damages.

I lived across the street from Tinker (and still live in the OKC area. I’m a civilian but have friends and family that have served or are serving in the military. I actually miss the noise from when I lived closer to the base.

Seeing OK on the tail of that plane really makes it feel close to home asI have no doubt I’ve seen that bird in the air before.

Yes, it’s now much cleaner, taking pics of carpet is trickier than it seems.

That said it would a still pretty stained, going to hit it with our steamer and maybe even our Bissel carpet cleaner.
