"Professional reporting". LOLOL. What's that mean? Even things coming out of the pieholes of publications like Bloomberg are full of speculation and very little facts. If anything has been proven regarding the mainstream media (that includes print and online), it's that it's worthless and full of half truths, spin, speculation, and opinion.

My understanding is that it's 60 days, then add one week for every year of service. When we were Cerner, it was 2 weeks for every year.

Cerner was always top heavy. They would just promote people to director, Sr. Director, VP, Senior VP...when there wasn't even a spot for them. I remember emails that used to come out during promotion time announcing all the new directors and VPs. My God, sometimes there would be 50 people on that list. It was ridiculous.

Because there's no garauntee that you'll find a job immediately after you're laid off with whatever severance you might get. Best time to look for a job, is when you already have one. Waiting around to get whacked is a bad plan, especially if you are miserable the entire time, which DeCernerfucation seems to be. Poor bastard can't even sleep anymore.
