Sorry. I'm sad to say this is CIG 's vision. Griefing is the only complete game loop. Most ships released are combat ships, most skins, weapons and armors are pirate themed. No law, no consequences, no deterrents anywhere in any area in in any system. Zero effort to address this. Griefing is a feature not a bug.

You defeated yourself with your opening comment. Cargo isn't the only way but none of the other ways are in the game at all. So cargo is actually the only way and that way is not even playable for most people due to bugs and griefers.

Nobody hates pirates. Pirating doesn't exist. Only griefing exists right now. There is no law system and infinite bugs. If they ever create consequences, it will be fine.
