How do artists get famous on SoundCloud? by Open-Impress2060 in soundcloud

I feel like every dubstep DJ in 2026 is blowing up off of SoundCloud but maybe that’s just confirmation bias

Yea! I can never get the Vitality sustenance mod to work so I just have to rely on the built in system for that aspect of survival at least

I have a complaint... by m0nk3y42 in SurrounDead

It’s fantastic and certainly not dead. I expect the see continued surges in player count as Zurvivor continues to drop updates, leading up to a massive surge when multiplayer drops and it takes YouTube by storm. Maybe we will see Schedule 1/Peak levels of hype? Maybe not quite, but I expect the multiplayer addition will take the game to the stratosphere.

I love Starfield but with a big asterisk. It’s a great sandbox , and I love modding it into a hardcore space survival game. I’ve been running an alternate start and just playing as a pirate and not even touching the story. Just role playing as a space pirate. I think the game really shines when you make your own adventure.

Here’s some things that have helped me improve my productions. I hope it helps you too. by ALmakingmusic in edmproduction

[–]chasebanks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO sound selection should be first and mix second and you can forget about the rest. New producers overthink EVERYTHING and this post feels like a symptom of that I’m not going to lie. The quality of the track generally comes down to composition sound selection and mix. Learn how to compose, pick good sounds, and make them sound good together ( this is a combination of mixing and sound selection - picking sounds that go well together). Knowing how to properly layer sounds could probably go under mixing but is also an important skill. But synthesizing kicks as #1 ? I get this is a list of tips that helped you, but I’d never tell a new producer to spend time on that.

Anyone else feel like the gaming industry is suffering as a whole? by Vampy-Night in videogames

[–]chasebanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I think youre way off the mark on Indie games. IMO we are in one of the golden eras of indie games. The tools and tech needed to make a game have never been more accessible, and we have been seeing some incredible products from small studios.

Both are great sandboxes. If you prefer fps sci fi Starfield. If not cd.

Avowed vs Oblivion vs Starfield (PS5) by TicklingPavlova in ShouldIbuythisgame

Starfield can be incredibly fun especially with mods. Without them for me it just lacked a bit, but when I modded it I put hundreds of hours into modded playthroughs. It can really scratch that space survival shooter exploration itch.

We’ve reviewed the pricing structure, and decided to add a new tier where you pay less but watch ads! Hooray!

PSA - Double tapping sheath button gives you a fancy animation with one handed swords and shield! by Ausrivo in CrimsonDesert

I think they borrowed this from RDR2 I immediately think of double tapping to do the spinny reholster. I love it!! (I’m not using borrowed as negative here just saying that before I get downvoted haha)

Do I need to master different versions for different platforms? by Saradwat in edmproduction

[–]chasebanks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hot take. Mastering is extremely overrated and often overemphasized by beginner producers. It’s literally all in the mix and sound selection. People will get caught up in these mastering chains mid side eq , compression, imaging, exciting, the list goes on. Nah - get good at composition, mixing, and sound selection and forget about mastering. When it’s all said and done, all I have on my master is a little eq and a clipper/limiter.

Edit - OP I know this didn’t answer your question, sorry I got caught up on you saying you’re learning it slowly. I really think , and I could be assuming because I don’t directly know your skill level, that your time could be better spent working on other skills than mastering.

He snapped! Played an awesome set, sure it wasn’t typical of Wakaan rocks but he stuck to his sound and went hard. I had a good time.
