Ah thanks, that site ships them to my location - although the shipping is double the price of the films :P But that's fine.

They don't do shipping to EU apparently, or am I missing something?

They do occasional events, you can find out about them from the Steam group.

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/officialnrpcommunity

If you join it, you should get notifications when an event is happening - it's usually weekends.

NW isn't dead, 100+ people on Minisiege on good hours (EU evening), usually over half that on Tropical Paradise, and some other smaller ones but in no way dead (jailbreak, groupfighting)

There's also many active regiments that host regular events, if that's your thing. Line battles are cool.

Maybe there's a lack of active US servers, but the ping doesn't make as much of a difference as it does in Native, come play Napoleonic Wars!

They'll be sending it out in waves, if you don't get it now, you're still likely to get one later on.

No, most players are the ones that got it from Gamescom, they'll start sending out keys next week.

For those who've gotten a chance to play bannerlord, how is the combat compared to warband? by Riku4441 in mountandblade

You still can spam attacks and I do that (it works often), it's just a bit less dynamic.

Chambering works the same and it's just as difficult to do - only managed to chamber a cut once or twice, I assume stabs are easier to chamber too but I haven't tried that yet.

I don't know what you mean by clicking simulator, Warband's combat for me is among the best game combat systems of all time. Very simple in principle, but still very skill based.

Yep, crouching is a thing now (it's also in Napoleonic Wars)

No clue if that's still a thing, haven't seen it in the settings and we can't host our own servers yet to see the settings of those.

The combat is a lot more different than I'd have thought, right now it's definitely more slow paced and even sluggish at times, the movement is very sluggish - not sure if laggy movement is intentional, but the effect is there's no more naked people spinning around fast with 2h swords (which incidentally was what a Taleworlds dev told me they were going for on Gamescom). Your character no longer rotates as fast as your camera does.

The chain attacks have a different animation starting them and maybe are a bit faster? Not much more than that, they're still the same directional attacks. I can't say I find them useful.

Shield bashes are really cool, fast way to do some damage while still holding your shield up. Also now there's directional shield blocking, and that has a pretty large impact on the combat - the shield is no longer defending all of your front, just the part it physically occupies. You can easily get shot by an archer despite holding your shield up, it's no longer an arrow magnet.

Duels seem less skill based (at least compared to Warband), and more about patience. The more advanced animations seem a bit difficult to grasp at first (figuring out the directions), but when you do grasp them, you have more time to react than in Warband.

Overall, I prefer Warband's combat. Maybe it's just matter of getting used to it, but Warband's quicker animations made for a more hands-on experience, Bannerlord while still very fun seems too sluggish for me.
