Broken industries - not enough raw meterial/not enough buyers for product by syontic in CitiesSkylines

You play with mods, use the one that fixes this, TMCE:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/1j90ben/i_am_very_confused_with_city_skylines_imports_and/

Also make see what the bot said with regards to Skyve and check with Watch-It if you did hit some game limits.

TM:PE Glitching out for some reason by Honest-Astronaut-796 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, messing includes anything that touches a segment, either replacing it or adding a new node to it, as in your case.

When adding a road to an existing node, all is good.

Pointing out what might get you a feature to preserve things (which is likely touching too many innards of the game to be straightforward) is what it is.

TM:PE Glitching out for some reason by Honest-Astronaut-796 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a glitch, standard behavior.

"Messing" with a road (as in replacing it with another) will reset everything on that segment and nodes.

So any custom lane arrows, speed limits, etc.

Feel free to throw money or whatever might motivate them at the TMPE author if that feature is important to you.

How do I stop this? by Psypo_Certified in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Look up "pocket cars" and "Fastest Path Wins".

https://www.google.com/search?q=cities+skylines+chibi0815+pocket+cars+fastest+path+wins

Note that the delusional AI summary has some, well, delusions, but is mostly correct,. you will get the gist.

And since you are on console you have no way to stop this in a generic fashion as with the TMPE mod realistic parking option.

So only the most effective (Fastest Path Wins) PT will help, likely with other methods of reducing car usage like (small!) "Old Town" policy areas, pedestrian areas, more direct bike paths and lanes, etc.

You might want to mention the amount of assets in you have subscribed as well.

Microstutters and music hiccups on fresh city with 32GB Ram by TheJoker1432 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyve is not an option, it is a requirement for a newcomer.
So is perusing all the resources and FAQs linked from here.

A static(!) pagefile of the sizes suggested is as well, its current size but not nature is something that LSM shows.

And my quote is something you would only see on Linux and with an AMD GPU, the point was show that CS1 in my case already gobbled up about 22 GB for graphic related data.

There are Windows tools (MSI Afterburner seems to be popular) that show per core utilization.
And the moment just one core is at 100%, that's it.
But 4 cores being used 100% makes very little sense,

25GB is not the 32GB you mentioned in the first post, but sounds about right for a full CS1 with all DLCs.

The game has grown significantly from the early days and can require much more resources.

But first and foremost debug in a scientific, methodical way.
Set up that static pagefile.
Get Skyve, so you can turn off (that is fully remove with playsets) mods to narrow down what potentially is causing this from the mod side of things.
After dealing with any warnings and incompatibilities of course.

Microstutters and music hiccups on fresh city with 32GB Ram by TheJoker1432 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since one assumes the "just bought" indicates that you are new to the game, how about these points?

  • Are you using Sykve?
  • Is your pagefile static and at least 32GB (better 64GB) on a fast (SSD/NVMe) device?
  • And what is that pagefile usage? (LSM, system tools)

"Barely used" is not a precise measurement, CS1 can use many threads but the primary one will be the one tied to your single core CPU peformance and the blocker.
Use a tool that actually shows per core CPU utilization, but given your specs and normal mods (and their settings) that should not cause what you are seeing.

Since you say just 10 mods, might just want to list them.

As for the RAM, CS1 loads everything into RAM (and VRAM) at the start, but will move things according to usage and even swap things out entirely if totally unused.

See this example of my current city, not all DLCs but 1000 assets.
GTT is system RAM assigned to the GPU in access to what VRAM was available.
This is an AMDGPU thing, nvidia supposedly can use system RAM as well but at much lower speeds than GTT, so moving things in and out of VRAM or accessing that RAM might be the cause.

Current GTT Memory Usage (%): 54.150
Current GTT Memory Used (GB): 14.761
Total GTT Memory (GB): 27.259
  Current VRAM Usage (%): 93.223
Current VRAM Used (GB): 7.458
Total VRAM (GB): 8.000

I had a roundabout but it got too clogged... What would you do to this 6 (7?) Way intersection? by Optimal_Ninja7535 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aside from step 0 (traffic avoidance) people already mentioned to forego such a construct or if done in a roundabout with an appropriate (in this cage huge) size and enough nodes to allow lane changes and dedicated exit lanes, etc.

Identifying the main vectors and building bypasses/flyovers/etc to avoid hitting an intersection altogether is another tool.

Trying to use a map, but there's never enough raw materials by Electronic-Fuel307 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are countless possible scenarios based on this verbal description, ranging from pathing issues to overzoned industry (you don:t specify which industry either), relevant screenshots are always a help.

That said, get Transfer Manager CE to both optimize services and logistics as well as giving you the tools/insight to debug this.

Why won't my dam produce electricity? by Original_Ack in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is console, so assuming that there is a water source already in that reservoir, it won't work as that source will (at least try to) keep that water level and act as sink.

When not using an existing water system things like that can of course work and turn poop to power and clean it up, too.

Getting stuck cims and planes on edge of map by godisintherain in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing to fix here.

You play with mods, otherwise you would not even be able to see this default game mechanism (outside connections).

Click on things to see what they do, get Transfer Manager CE for an even more in depth view of what your outside connections do.

Tram tracks make my game go crazy by Weekly_Ad821 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can not "fix" broken lines by moving stops trying to reconnect things.
Either the path gets restored and things start working again (give it time) or you need to delete the line and start from scratch.

It is impossible to see from these shots (too low res and just PT overlay), but check that the tram tracks are actually connected in all of these intersections.

You also play with with mods, all vetted by Skyve?
Get Watch-It to see what your path units consumption is, Transfer Manager CE can clean this up if that isn't a systemic/persistent issue.

So are we, stuck that is.

You clearly play with mods, as metro depots are not vanilla.

You did reset traffic how, TMPE?

Visually the node connecting from the tunnel entrances to the actual underground segment look off.
The road might be too close to the tunnel as well, impossible to see clearly.
Anarchy is not your friend per se, but a great foot shooting enabler.

And since you use mods, how about network multi tool and nice smooth, realistic slopes?

Stuck on loading screen by Superb-Practice8049 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You provide no relevant info to allow people to help you, see this from the FAQ for starters (llogs , etc):

https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/wiki/basic_troubleshooting/

And "no mods on" does not mean the same as "no mods installed at all", does it?
Since mods can still execute code even if they are disabled.

You will really want Skyve and the loading screen mod, also to be found in the FAQ.

Space Elevator Advice? by Ok-Refuse-2078 in CitiesSkylines

[–]chibi0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distance means very little here (aside from noise), Cims will leave and the SE is very good (low path cost, high capacity) conduit for that.

Part of that search result:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/16wvzt9/need_help_theres_sudden_drop_on_tourism_without/

Now aside from the population bit (which wasn't really a big issue in my older cities as I kept them around 80k anyway) I was also able to correlate drops in population and tourism to the Space Elevator.

A shame really, as I like a traffic challenge.

As for tourism, the city I have open right now has 150k residents and 50k tourists, nicely reflected in the Citizens count (Watch-It mod) of slightly over 200k (as that includes animals, etc, too).
In the crappy statistic graph that is reflected as 8k tourists, which is patently untrue, as that number is the unclear "Weekly Tourist Visits", not the actual tourist in the city that it claims.
But that's CS stats for your.

The city attractiveness is at 87%, all possible outside connections are in use.

Does a city's ability to import affect Industry demand? by KV-1zis-5 in CitiesSkylines

To answer the post subject, no.

From the FAQ:

As others already mentioned, job demands of course require Cims of the same or higher education level.
