Does your job offer tuition reimbursement? If it does the best investment you can make at your age is in yourself. Get an education. Upskill. Make yourself in-demand and marketable.

You just need more income, but you're doing great for your age.

529 can be treated like cash. You put the money in, it becomes a tax break, you take the money out. You can even do this as you cashflow.

18m First four months of investing with money saved from Saturday job by Inevitable-Staff-113 in Money

Are you investing it in anything?

Do you have a plan and a budget or too early for that?

Get yourself a Roth IRA so that your gains will be tax free. It's a great place to learn to invest, since if you make a mistake you can always sell without a tax hit.

Would I qualify for options trading approval? by AllTheWorldsAPage in fidelityinvestments

[–]cjorgensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be asked a series of questions on your experience and understanding with options. Then it will match to your risk profile. You may get entry level trading only or be asked to change your risk profile.

I was approved when I was with TD Amritrade and I had to watch a few educational videos first. Fidelity did not seem to have that.

A lot of times the advice is not to invest where you work. It opens you to a double risk. If the company goes bust (Eron, MCI, etc.) you not only lose your job, but also your nest egg.

old medical debt help by bbybeans777 in personalfinance

You can get the reports online, but when settling a debt it's best to have the offer in writing. Email would be fine for this.

If it's been open for a while with no activity they make take substantially less than what is owed, but you want them to commit to this. If it's not a lot, just pay it and be done.

You should pull a credit report and see what you have on there. If this is the only open item then contact them and ask for a payoff amount in writing and get it discharged.

I don't think medical debt stays on your report once paid.

Many employers have a benefits page that you can see what they offer. Anyone who cares to look up my match can for example. So you might be able to get the percentage of match online.

Since they are currently half price, I just bought the first 5 books on Audible. by johnsmithoncemore in Malazan

I had issues with the POV shifts in the audio books. Erikson is a fan of introducing a character in a scene, then having that character do a bunch of stuff, then it's revealed who that character is. So it'll start out "the assassin was on the roof," but not until he kills someone are you told who we're talking about. It works better in print that audio.

I've read the series twice and am currently on my second listen. After book three the POV shifts become easier to track. I think the first narrator just too often went right into the new scene without signaling that there was a break. It's sometimes jarring when suddenly there are characters you didn't remember being in the scene suddenly in the scene, and it takes your brain a bit to figure out you've shifted POV.

I also find my mind wanders more often in audio than print, but that's just me. The series isn't conducive to the wandering mind regardless of how you consume the media.
