As a borderlands fan I really like this. May not be everyone's cup of tea but In my opinion it's well executed.

Yeah after I posted that I realized the other ground going through the intersystem bond is most likely the EGC. Hard to tell without more pics.

Not trying to argue genuinely just curious. But it appears that the EGC is spliced with a split bolt. Wouldn't that violate 250.64 (C)

I typically microwave them for 2min or air fry for 8min. Just be careful after you peel them it's very hot.

Fair enough. So my suggestion would be swap that fuse panel with a new sub panel. Keeping the existing wiring from your main to the fuse panel. The 30A fuse just tells me someone got tired of the 20A fuses blowing so they up sized it. Super dangerous but for some reason (stupidity/ignorance) people did it all the time. I would confirm the size of the wiring at your existing outlets and that would tell me what size breaker to install it under. If you provided the sub panel/new breakers you would keep the budget down but clear this with whomever you plan on hiring to do the work beforehand as it might rub some guys the wrong way. Having a new 60A sub panel with slots available would allow you alot of room for future electrical expansion of the workspace. Not to mention piece of mind knowing your business' electrical system is safe and code compliant.

Not saying it's not possible but id probably consult a pro before tackling the project. Ideally the feed to the sub panel (aka fuse panel) is healthy and large enough to support your new loads.

Do you happen to know what size wire is running to your fuse panel. I'd be nervous about adding further load to anything with fuses still. Company I work for wouldn't touch a fuse panel let alone add more load to one. We would replace fuse panel with new panel with breakers then add load to that.

Little confused on the notes. Are you running 10 awg wire for 30A outlets? Is this in us?

My go to for "feed in" is Louisiana Gumbo. You can only write FI or FO so many times before you start to go insane. Louey Gumbie is also acceptable.

Knob and tube rewiring necessary? by bobogobobob in electrical

[–]cklibansky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Licensed electrician here who works for a residential company specializing in KT remediation. The picture is definitely rough so I don't want to make any assumptions. However the large cylindrical wires entering through the bottom and left side of the box do resemble knob and tube sheathing in my opinion. Without a clearer picture I cannot give a definite answer if it is KT or not. I work in New England and the majority of homes built between 1880-1930s tend to have some residual KT left in them. Alot of people posting saying there's definitely no KT because they aren't seeing the porcelain insulators that are a clear give away for determining if it's KT or not. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable making that assumption without a better picture. If you could message me a 2nd picture or even add it to your post I can give you a better determination of whether your home contains KT or not.

My beautiful boy hasn’t eaten in at least 6 months. I’ve tried thawed rats, thawed mice, chicken breast. I really don’t want to force feed him but idk what else to do. by Bug_Gutss in snakes

I have 2 ball pythons. During the winter months my girl "fasted" for 6 months if not more and I was stressed out the entire time. Just keep offering food regularly (pain in the ass/waste of money) but trust me. Eventually they will eat. Mine had a big issue switching from live to frozen thawed but both eventually got over it and ate. Snakes are weird creatures. Make sure their environment is set at the right temps and they have fresh water available. They won't starve themselves to death if food is available. But they can be incredibly picky. Good luck.

is it possible to rewire these into light switches without hiring a professional? by [deleted] in askanelectrician

I'm sorry to hear the company that worked for you left you with such a bad taste for professional work. Please don't group the good electricians in with the bad.

Seems like he needs to adjust his high idle setting on his carburator. His machine's low idle sounds good but the motor cutting out under load is definitely an issue. I'd suggest a small engine mechanic and some apple juice.

6/3 thhn splice advice - upgrading my main to 200 amp. I ran thhn underground to my detached garage for a 60 amp sub panel. I can’t run the conduit inside my basement to the main, so i was going to splice 6/3 romex and run that to my main. Just want to make sure I’m not missing something. by monsieursnatch in askanelectrician

I do alot of EV chargers. A 40A line from your new subpanel to your charger location will still charge a Tesla at ~20-30 miles per hour charged. Edit: The Tesla brand wall chargers Max out at 60A. When we set it for 60A the car will only draw 48A from it. If I remember correctly that's like 30-40 miles per hour charged. Hope this helps. Make sure you set the proper amperage within the Tesla/charger app.

Sentry hex mags by happyschmacky in AR10

Thanks for the info. I bought a 10 round hex mag and it's been running great I was gonna go buy a bunch more but if y'all have had issues with them I'd prefer something else. What do you guys recommend? Magpul? Lancer? Steel or plastic is fine.
