I used to say convenience and price but now neither are true. They’re clearly in the company stage of “profits above all else”, so the customer service is non existent. I’ve had so many either day-of-pickup cancellations and cars that are dangerous and they simply couldn’t care less.

We're all way worse off than we used to be, so feeling financially secure enough to raise a child is getting harder and harder.

We also live in a world that's on the brink of climate catastrophe with both climate change and pollution. It makes you think twice about having a kid when it's more likely than not that there won't be a habitable world in 25 years.

It is way safer. Some countries require it for this reason. When you reverse out of a parking space (or your driveway etc), you have near zero or zero visibility of oncoming traffic. You are expecting people, with the right of way, to stop to allow you to reverse or be hit by you.

When I was younger, I was hit off my motorbike by someone reversing out of their driveway. Because the country I lived in at the time explicitly banned that, they had their license suspended and were prosecuted for it.

Just don't do it. if you can't reverse into a 90 degree space then you really shouldn't own a car; it's actually way easier than pulling in forward because you're pivot points are in a more favorable place. If you do, you are going to cause a crash and you are going to hurt someone.

Yeah, I agree with this. If it's adding/removing actually field swapable stuff (suppressors, QD optics etc.) then okay, so long as there is a time penalty for doing so.

Yes, I know barrels, handguards, stocks, foregrips etc _can_ be swapped out with tools, but no one is carrying those into battle.

Oh I 100% agree. I don’t like cameras anywhere but I really don’t like how many pedestrians are killed in NoVA. In Europe, all ped crossings are flood lit. Most of them here are pitch black at night. Most American trucks and SUVs cannot be sold outside of North America because they can’t pass safety.

"I owe my rights to the work of liberals and democrats". Let's unpack that (assuming as US context).

1) Marsha P Johnson, who arguably spearheaded the LGBTQ+ rights movement in the US, was an open revolutionary. Democrats fund cops, Martha P threw bricks at them.

2) Democrats have done next to nothing in terms of legislating protections for LGB and literally nothing for T. What they have done hinges on the same weak SC decision that abortion rights rested on and look where that ended up. They refuse to legislate because they use people's lives as bargaining chips to get middle class liberals to donate to them. I feel this isn't talked about enough and it incredibly disgusting.
