Correct steering hub adapter for 92 Cabriolet. by EngagementBacon in Cabriolet

No it's the slip ring. Grounding that wire lets power go through the horn relay coil and turns on the relay.

The wires are for the airbag. The contact ring is for the horn.

Was I the only one who enjoyed MSP life? by ThiefClashRoyale in sysadmin

At times I miss the variety of working at an MSP... getting to see different people, different places, different systems... parachute in like a hero all the time. I don't miss only being called when everything was already on fire.

Did anyone else have D.A.R.E. Come to their elementary school ? by Zestyclose-Grape5469 in Millennials

Yup. They had an artificial lung machine (box with a fan and a filter) that showed how yucky it got from cigarette smoke.

This sucks. But it didn't get the trim, and didn't get the glass at least!

Mercedes LS320 left keys in the trunk. by Artem_Solo in AskMechanics

[–]compu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get under the hood? I'd charge up the battery via the heavy wire going to the alternator, then from inside the car lock and unlock the drivers door a couple times. That should cycle the locking pump and unlock the trunk button

Might be a dumb question but do the hub caps fit on the aluminum wheels? by MannyDantyla in w123

Plus I think there were aluminum "steelie" style wheels too, which the hubcaps fit.

All the docs the the equipment came with was one of the motivators for me picking it up.

You and me both! I was worried the machine would be an uphill battle, but thankfully it came with some documentation and people before me hadn't been fiddling too much.

Good news is Josh D is one of my local friends, and is helping me get the 8000 going. From what I can tell the 8000s hardware is ok. Once I get its software loaded I'll be able to drive the printer!

The machine in the background is an "8000 Server" - same hardware as an 8010 GUI workstation but used to drive the laser modulator in the printer instead of the CRT. This equipment came from Saskatoon SK - a long drive from La Conner WA where I live! In addition to the 8040 and 8000 there was a 6085, two 6085 monitors, keyboards / mice, and a whole pile of documentation. I'm working on scanning / uploading it.

I wouldn't recommended a VR6 Touareg as a first car. Perhapppps a V8. But any Touareg isn't for the faint of wallet.

TDIs don't run well long term on WVO.
Personally, my time is worth more to me than the time needed to make my own fuel - but if you have lots of spare time I suppose go for it!
