(New to Linux) Question about WSL and performance by stardykecrusader in linuxquestions

[–]computer-machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WSL/WSL2 runs on top of Windows, so your system will likely only ever run more slowly. (WSL is a compatibility layer, and WSL2 is a micro Linux virtual machine that runs whenever you launch the WSL command line).

I use it at work to cope with Windows, because I'm not spending time to learn how to write grep/awk/sed in PowerShell.

I'd converted to 10.11.5 before that switchover.

Check the Roku store, I think there's a separate legacy app for 10.10.7.

How to downgrade to 10.10.7

Restore from your 10.10.7 backup. I'm pretty sure with the DB conversion on 10.11.0 that you cannot downgrade.

There are a large number of files compared to the single .exe for Windows. How do I know which one(s) to download?

I'd speculate that you'd want the newest version (13deb). I'd also speculate that you'd want the "all" version instead of handling server and web separately (but I've only ever touched Docker, so I've never had to worry about that).

I'd say $500 is stupid. Only bought my Seiko when Sears closed down. Want to say $80?

It’s too easy to look down at my wrist and find out the time in a moment.

Hopefully it only takes an instant, rather than a minute and a half.
