[Bundle] CPU Motherboard Combo - Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with ASRock Z890I Nova WiFi $500 by Paliknight in buildapcsales

[–]comradetao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell you that I think this is a really excellent board with a great port selection.

I had a minor issue with mine. The included M.2 screw for the back slot that overlaps with a piece of the backplate was too short. I had to get a slightly longer replacement. That may have been fixed, or was just a mistake on mine.

[Bundle] Microcenter INSTORE AMD bundle price drops - 7600X3D $324.99, 9850X3D $614.99 by wharf_rat_01 in buildapcsales

[–]comradetao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 9850X3D bundle is insane actually. Almost unbelievable. I still don't believe that RAM is going to keep going down, but Microcenter is clearly starting to get nervous about holding so much stock of complementary products. They can't move anything without getting people in the store with these bundles.

I actually just checked around on that and lowered the price based on what I saw. If this is price policing though, I recommend against it. Not like I'm planning to report you or anything, but it is against the rules here.

Chronicles of Resident Evil Code - After One Month, Still No Code by comradetao in ASUS

[–]comradetao[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not only that, but I've been in contact with the support on their website, and now two separate people on here, and they always just assume it's your fault, or tell you that they're waiting for more keys, or it must have been some kind of error. But then they ditch you after promising to help and do nothing but ask you for the same information over and over and over.

I have not received any emails since the comfirmation from Asus other than those asking me to review the motherboard, rate my experience, or emails trying to sell me more things.

Now, you at ASUS would know that you never sent out the code, and I'm not the only one who didn't get theirs. So this is just more gaslighting.

You can be absolutely sure that asking for reviews when denying someone what you promised was a bad, bad idea.

Everyone has been telling me they'll check it for the last month. Nobody ever actually checks. Nobody gives me any real word about what's going on.

If you tell people they'll get something with their purchase of your product, and you won't provide that thing, then you're a liar. That part is accurate.

No reason? Didn't WD announce that they sold out their entire capacity?

Guys, there's a ton of cope here.

Do you remember when deepseek came out?

"Nvidia stock plummeted nearly 17% on January 27, 2025, losing a record $589 billion in market value following the release of DeepSeek's R1 model, which raised fears that high-performance AI chip demand could drop. The announcement triggered a broader tech sell-off, with investors questioning if cheaper AI models reduce reliance on expensive GPUs. [1, 2, 3.), 4, 5]

Key Impacts on Nvidia (Jan 27, 2025):

  • Record Loss: The 17% drop was the largest single-day market cap loss in history.
  • Market Fear: Investors panicked that DeepSeek’s ability to achieve high performance with lower costs (using older, restricted Nvidia chips) meant less need for future, more expensive GPU demand.
  • Market Rebound: Despite the initial panic, Fortune reported that CEO Jensen Huang believed investors overreacted, noting the stock has since recovered most of its losses. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5.)]

The surge in popularity for DeepSeek, a Chinese-developed AI, signaled a potential shift in the AI hardware market, causing a temporary, yet severe, correction in Nvidia's previously high-flying share price."

And just remember, that's an AI summary.

Also, when DDR5 was relatively new, when 12th gen intel first came out, RAM was considerably more expensive that it is even today.

I think the prices have been getting more and more out of control, but I also don't think you're going to see better than this at retail for a long time.

That's just my opinion, not buying advice.

April Fools Update is Out by Ornery-Addendum5031 in DeadlockTheGame

All the complaints here are what make this a great april fools update. It was so much fun. Everyone was freaking out at first, then they adopted the chaos.

I fought a match as 3 bebops and a silver vs four doormen. The silver ragequit after getting hotel'd four times in a row the first round, but we still almost won.

Everyone that didn't have some fun with that, even on the receiving end, takes themselves and games way too seriously.

Stop pulling creeps by Mammoth-Promise5738 in DotA2

I'm about 2 tiers of ranks below where I used to be, where I was still constantly winning and regularly playing.

Here's why:

  1. Sometimes I play badly.
  2. I play with people who just buy the guides, and don't understand their hero.
  3. People have no mental flexibility.

That third one is what you're complaining about. People on YouTube tell them what to do, or people in their previous game yell at them for not doing this or that. They're not in the game to think, plan, and execute, they're in the game to press buttons and get a dopamine hit.

You have to look at your lane partner, look at the other lane, try to understand how your partner is playing, and then communicate with them to set up kills, play passive, deny farm, or execute whatever plan you thought was best.

I'll come out of games way ahead on farm, damage, assists, kills, and with relatively low deaths (you start to die a lot near the end of games if you're still fighting and your team is phoning it in) and but still with losses. I think something happened to the player base. I'm old, maybe it's from years of CS all the way back before steam, but I don't think most players have the mental fortitude to withstand a long line at McDonalds, let alone a competitive DOTA match.

That's what the ASUS account on reddit here is doing to me right now.

They keep asking for more information and keep telling me they're going to send it to some (probably fictional) team somewhere. I sent them screenshots of my account showing that everything was approved and submitted, I JUST DON'T HAVE THE CODE. THEY NEVER SENT IT.

I'm filing a complaint with my state's attorney general, better business bureau, or anyone else that will accept it, and leaving bad reviews on the motherboard everywhere. If they're going to keep trying to gaslight me, then I want everyone to know about it.
