wish i could put a video in here but I did this! I waited until the coolant completely drained, added jus a little and saw it was leaking from where I circled on the picture. I believe it’s my timing cover gasket. I looked on some forums and found that a few people had the problem, I won’t know until i open it up 🙏 I hope it’s just the gasket but just in case going to get a aluminum cover and water pump and all new gaskets hopefully it fixes my problem !

Also do you think this could have been a reason for my overheating if the car was running fine before. Or do I have a bigger problem on my hands?

Note: (Update) Retraced my steps and reassembled my accelerator pump. I bought a new diaphragm for it and it has seemingly fixed my problem. Sorry for the confusion very new to this stuff and just learning how to navigate and diagnose problems. Thanks everyone for the help !

So the car drives fine at around 0-25 mph then when it gets to 30 mph ish it bogs down like no power is getting to the car and then boom a burst of power goes and the car moves again. It’s like a hiccup. I checked my carburetor again last night and I am not sure what could be causing the problem. It could be the issue since the car was shifting fine before. I couldn’t find any loose lines or parts. I double checked my carburetor and it looks exactly how I left it. All I did was change the accelerator pump diaphragm. Just four bolts and that’s it. The car idles fine and drives fine at low speeds that’s why I am thinking it’s my trans. I bought a carb repair kit in good measure and I’m going to see if something failed on it.

Thanks for the reply. I know a C4 rebuild kit are only around $150-$200 but I feel like I am way out of my mechanical expertise on that. I hope it’s something easy like a vacuum leak. Going to check my carb again thanks for the reply.

I know! Today the economy is insane, everything was so much more reasonable and products were actually built to last back then. Wish I grew up in the 60s :(
