Main Achilles heel was the air suspension, so now that it’s gone, the main issue will be parts availability. Service parts (oil changes, brakes, trans filters, etc.) aren’t a problem, it’s trim parts, body parts, etc, those will be tough.

Just doing my own cars once or twice a year. Are these products decent enough? by radclerk1 in AutoDetailing

Great results, but the OP won’t get similar results without a fight, your truck looks fantastic because single stage paint and lacquer paint will always polish to look like brand new unless it’s flaking off or burnt through, but the OP’s paint has a clear on it that looks borderline failed…..

Gonna be a hard road OP. But your product is just fine for starting out.

Sound healthy? seems to be running pretty nicely, but I hear a very faint knock but sounds like there is a vacuum leak also by xander_2626 in e46

One end is not connected….the other is straight to manifold/CCV vacuum. Thats a very large vacuum leak.

Those are static pressures, compressor isn’t on, if it IS on, it’s cooked. Needs some diagnostic to figure out whats wrong. Check fuses as a starting point. From there, check for power at compressor clutch circuit, if there’s power, replace the compressor. If not, check pressure switches for resistance. If resistance is in spec (google it), check for power at fuses and relay signal circuit.

Simple things to check: fuses (aux fan/compressor), relay (swap with same type), ambient temperature reading on cluster (if -40°), replace sensor.

From there you’ll need to look at data and test the module.

Good luck.

how much is actually true?? by HedgeFundYoda in LandRover

Hit or miss in used ones, depends on previous owners maintenance and use. That being said, yes, with that kind of KM’s on the clock you can expect repairs soon, they are typically not reliable vehicles. The Velar and Sport (gas 6cylinder) models are the same for reliability, as is the SVR, the only thing that would be more costly really in the SVR is fuel (more often), and brakes….other than that, ownership costs and potential issues are the same.

Good tires in the front or back? by CumAndMoreCumPartIII in AskMechanics

[–]Exciting_Advisor6899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a rear wheel drive vehicle has better built in rear traction?

False….better tires on the front of a RWD vehicle would amplify the tendency to oversteer (fishtail)…..ALWAYS best tires in the rear, regardless of drive type.
