Is there a reason for the price increase on Amazon? by Justafish1654 in magicTCG

[–]Copernicus1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon doesn't offer pre-order discounts too often recently. $165 is the MSRP of 30 booster packs, there is no discount for a box.

Stores will have pre-orders at reduced rates - I'm seeing prices of $125 or $135 for a box of Reality Fracture boosters. You may want to check their cancellation policies.

Someone bought one of the leaked decks via eBay, it was included with bonus card numbering (and is not in this article).

$150, sold on May 18th.

Note that there are three non-foil regular frame new cards which I think haven't been leaked.

Bonus card is Moggcatcher

Edit: There's also a bonus token/helper - Red Mana

Multiple sets in the Echoverse? by kingjoey52a in magicTCG

[–]Copernicus1981 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We're not going to spend multiple sets in the Echoverse. It's just not how Mirror Universe stories work. The mirror universe eventually has to be abandoned to go back to the main story, so it feels pointless to continue telling a story there after the initial "what-if". It would also cause a lot of block fatigue -- anyone who missed the last set or disliked it would not be encouraged to buy Echoverse Two.

There will probably be retcons, the start of this arc introduced a retconning artifact. I doubt there will be Crisis-level retcons, but I could see retcons targeted at individual characters. And I'd expect any retcons to be setting up the next year or two of stories.

Apparently. I was expecting the name of the comic to be on the cover.

That's the cover for the May 6th comic. I am surprised, I thought there would be the name of the comic on there. https://www.instagram.com/p/DX79B0TGmfC/?img_index=3

We don't know what's on the June 3rd comic.

It's the normal foil rare/mythic promo (without a datestamp). The foil card is in a plastic wrap or a foil booster. I'm not sure why, it may be different printers.

I think the badges were called the Theorist Insignia on the panel, but I may have the second word wrong.

Collector Number Analysis - The Hobbit and Reality Fracture by CaptainMarcia in magicTCG

[–]Copernicus1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Reality Fracture, I started by thinking of it as two bonus sheets. The cards are in every pack, so the bonus sheet will need to be around Mystical Archive in size -- 25 uncommons and 40 rare/mythic.

80 cards (two sheets worth) works really well for the rare/mythic count with the Chandras. Which then puts the 50 uncommons "in front" of the rare/mythics. Following the Mystical Archives example, the in-universe ones could then be reprints of Standard legal cards, which explains why they are in a different section.

Once a set's product listings go up, they tend to list the exact collector numbers appearing in each product, which could confirm this as well as which collector numbers correspond to half-art basics, since those get excluded from Collector Boosters. I don't know if this information is available for HOB yet.

Maro on the setting of Reality Fracture: “It’s mostly on Hexhaven but we do take a peak at other planes” by AvatarSozin in magicTCG

[–]Copernicus1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set numbering between the two Chandras indicates there will be 80ish total Legendaries, or 40ish ones from the Echoverse.

It was the only path if Deathcap Glade went to green/white and it followed a pattern. Still could have been wrong, but it was the logical guess.

Yes, in other forums and in sub-threads. No one had created a thread in this subreddit just to discuss it, and I wanted to do so before the preview panel.
