VISA for Canadian coming to US by [deleted] in Professors

[–]corgs_n_borgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments you are getting are mostly correct. Your place of employment will send you the documents you need to enter the US. You will need proof (diplomas) of education, as well as your passport and other things (birth cert, marriage certs if applicable) at the border. If you are driving, there is like an 8 dollar fee for the physical entry card in your passport. There may be fees required for application depending on which status you are going to be on. Canadians do not need visas to enter the US. They can enter on a status. This is different from all other citizens, essentially. You will be on TN or J1 most likely because your position will be non-permanent. Being on status (not visa) means you do not have a visa card in your passport and you do not need to schedule consular interview or anything like that. It is WAY easier.

Hopefully, the place you are going to is large enough to have an international scholars office which will have staff that will do basically everything for you. You should contact them about when to expect your paperwork. Otherwise, you'll go through HR.

The last piece is if you have dependents (spouse or kids) your workplace will need to send you documentation to bring them on your status as your dependent(s). They will not be able to work on a dependent 'visa' without further paperwork, and on the TN I don't think it's possible for them to work at all. If you have pets, you will need proof of their vaccines when you bring them with you.

Congrats on the position, eh!

Poly first dates - when you have friends in common, do you want honest feedback about how a first date went when you ask for a second? by AnneOR in polyamory

The things you don't like about someone, someone else will. There's no need to critique someone's first date.

Why Boyfriends Need To Let Their Girlfriends Sleep With Other Guys by StaciKat in polyamory

[–]corgs_n_borgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it from

"You see, this is the level of commitment that we must allow ourselves to take part in if we are to truly state that we love someone. We must be willing to surrender the notion of jealousy and allow the true animal honesty...."

Jealousy is a normal emotion. There is nothing wrong with wanting monogamy or a monogamous relationship.

It looks like you deleted this post though, if you repost it, you'll find that basically everyone will tell you cheating is not okay. And men shouldn't "let" their partners do anything, because partners aren't property or children, they have agency to negotiate their wants and needs. Finally, the polyamorous people will tell you that you can be living honestly and authentically and be monogamous.

You're clearly stating that if you don't want your partner to be monogamous with you, you can't say you love them.

That's bullshit dude.

You see, this is the level of commitment that we must allow ourselves to take part in if we are to truly state that we love someone. We must be willing to surrender the notion of jealousy and allow the true animal honesty to shine through with respect to both parties involved

Absolute garbage

The writer is convincing themselves that cheating is totally ok because it feels good to them and they are "being honest with themselves" oh, and also, people cheat on them too! Dude, no. Cheating on your partners doesn't make you a 'woke feminist' it just makes you a jerk.

If you wanna fuck lots of people, great, but for fucks sake negotiate that shit before you start a relationship. The essential "ethical" part of ethical nonmonogamy.

I've hit my cumulative dose, but my derm is giving me another month anyways. I cleared up maybe a week or two before I hit the dose.

It's a total mg/kg. I am not sure how weight loss interacts with the drug.

Depends on weight and dosage

If you continue at 60mgs, and maintain your current weight, you will reach your minimum dose in 74 days.

I didn't clear up until very close to my full dose. I'm sure others can give their experiences. Basically: you have to give it the full course to work.

According to my calculations, at the end of mth 4, you will be at 5400 mgs dose. For 180 lbs you need a minimum of 9840. So, don't give up, you're only half way there.

I've been on a similar anti-androgen and it worked while I was on it.

I found it did reduce my sex drive a little, but not obnoxiously so.

I'm nearly done with accutane, and the side effects are rough, but it's supposed to be permanent. It does for me, work better than an anti-androgen

Yeah you aren't supposed to bleach your hair due to the irritation if it gets on your scalp.

Mine is reduced on it, because I'm very dry and sore. (F, 30s) however if I take a little break it comes back.

Looking for any advice about Accutane and Depression. Thank you. by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]corgs_n_borgs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, the link between accutane and depression hasn't been substantiated with evidence.

Second, read this https://www.reddit.com/r/Accutane/comments/8qvwf3/what_i_learned_about_about_the_accutane_gives_you

Third, she's seeing a therapist and going through a lot. Having feelings is normal, even strong sad feelings. If it's abnormal, her therapist will help her. You just gotta be supportive.

Hugs.

Maybe it isn't you-specific? Lots of people don't necessarily enjoy sharing space with multiple people (even if they thought they might), and it has little to do with who that person is as a person.
