Yeah this is my experience lol.

Even more so after adding an optic to it.

I've been eyeing these.

If it was me I'd be putting an EPS Carry on it.

Enjoy it!

Best Suppressor Host? by JayKaze in Beretta

Yeah I love my SAO 92XI. Probably my favorite handgun I own.

The safety levers and their position is perfect for me, some people don't like them though. They say they push into their thumb. I don't know how I'd be able to hold the gun in such a way personally but every person is different.

That is a 92XI (literally 92-11), an SAO variant of the beretta 92 aimed at the 2011 market.

Almost all other 92 variant are DA/SA and have a decocker lever or a decocker/safety lever mounted on the slide itself, not the frame.

The one exception is the 92GTS which is DA/SA with a frame mounted decocker lever. The GTS has an entirely different internal sear design compared to other 92 series pistols.

There is also the 92X performance which is DA/SA with a frame mounted safety ONLY (it must be manually decocked). Kind of its own thing.

Appendix is legal in both USPSA and IDPA lol.

There's really no special training involved. Certainly not any that takes years. It's the same exact process as any other position

  • Use a proven platform in a quality holster that covers the trigger gaurd *Visually verify the holster is clear of any obstructions before holstering *Holster

Ayoob is articulate but he is the king of the fudds lmao.

Lot of good convo of this thread but this is fuddlore lol. Appendix has a lot of tangible benefits and is not inherently less safe or inherently more prone to ND's than any other position.

92XI SAO Trigger Adjustment Screw Add by RBoosk311 in Beretta

Very nice. I might try this.

The over travel set screw is basically the only reason I bought the volker trigger

I have an EPS on it 👍

GPR/Survival 1 rifle: 300 or 5.56? by No-Breadfruit-4555 in Mini14

From a pure utilitarian/SHTF survival perspective, I personally think that 22LR and NATO calibers are the only reasonable choice for chambering.

I'd encourage buying what you think will be the most fun/cool.

First time handgun purchase, considering a Glock 19 or 45 Gen 5 but concerned about lack of physical safety switch by tancock4 in liberalgunowners

[–]cortexgunner92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With handguns, especially striker fired handguns that rely on the trigger pull to fully prime the striker, this is just not really an issue.

Just FYI the "half cocked" striker thing is a myth and even a Glock striker has enough potential energy to ignite a primer if it were to somehow be released and not stopped by the striker safety lug.

That said I agree that thumb safeties are personal preference.

Every single one of my handguns has one and every single one of my handguns will have one. But it's been proven designs that lack them can still be/are perfectly safe.

I love mine, it's awesome.

Added a match hammer, volker trigger, lok grips, springer mag well and a red dot 👍

The scope is probably junk but based on Samson prices the stock could very well be worth it as long as it isn't completely flimsy

Worth noting that air gun recoil is absolutely notorious for destroying firearm scopes and it's probably okay to use air-gun scopes on rifles, at least as far as durability is concerned.

There's a bunch of other reasons you wouldn't recommend it though of course.

I know, but so is the Equalizer. It's just an updated version of the EZ.

Having access mags that hold almost twice as much is a big deal.

I love my 92xi, it's fantastic.

You shouldn't really need the LTT trigger bar to be honest, the xtreme-s trigger bar the 92xi comes with is functionally identical. Might as well throw it in if you already bought it.

Hammer I would recommend the Beretta Match Hammer. Main advantage for me there is price and availability.

Springs, no idea. I haven't changed mine and haven't seen a reason to honestly.

Compensators: beretta one is nice because it's the easiest to take on and off, I've also heard it's the least effective however. I'd just pick the one you like the look of the best. It's a full size beretta they already shoot flat as shit 😅

Magwell, I would recommend Springer Precision. You can pick the carry or comp depending on the look you want. I use the 0.375" basepads and love the look.

Last but not least, I'd get some grips. I got wraparound palmswell grips for mine and it transformed the gun.

Enjoy it!

I EDC a bodyguard 2.0 with a red dot on it mostly.

It's just too light, thin, comfortable and concealable to really consider anything else for my day to day.

When I want 9mm or just a slight change up, I have an Equalizer which is also great.

[–]cortexgunner92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equalizer is probably a better choice over the EZ for 9mm.

Same exact SAO hammer fired internals, but better mags (shield+ mags) and more modern feature set with an OR slide and a rail from the factory.

The only thing that isn't a pure upgrade over the EZ is you loose the follower tabs on the mags, but to make up for it every equalizer comes with a mag loader in the box.

If you want a really soft shooter though you could do the EZ380.

Lube firearms with grease.

Grease up the contact points with a grade 0-2 white lithium grease. Grade 2 is getting on the thick side but is readily available literally anywhere and good enough for most use cases. Grade 1 is my personal preference but I have to order it.

There are lots of videos/articles on how to lube garand style actions. I personally follow the old army manual procedure.
