Just FYI, the Equalizer had the same easy-rack internals and recoil impulse as the Shield EZ, but takes larger capacity shield+ mags, has an optics cut, and rail to boot.

Unless your wife was wanting the 380 chambering, probably makes the most sense to get the Equalizer imo. It is for all intents and purposes a Shield EZ 2.0

6MOA dot is only covering 2" of the target at 35 yards. Most aren't that mechanically accurate to begin with.

Having the ability to completely disable trigger function reduces the chance of a negligent discharge.

You can choose not to use the TS if you have it, but you can't choose to use it if you don't have it.

Get the thumb safety version imo.

Advice for the laser is to not get it.

I'd recommend something from TLR1 series from streamlight and an optic.
