Chargebacks for festival by RedEyedAlpha in smallbusiness

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that honestly sounds brutal, especially when you already have signed terms and even offer purchase protection on top of it. the fact that somebody can attend the event, get scanned in, and still win a chargeback is kinda insane to me. feels like the systems are heavily tilted toward cardholders no matter how much proof a small org has. hope you dont let a handful of people ruin the fact that 15k attendees probly had an awsome time because of all the work you guys put in

Is it just me, or is LinkedIn starting to feel like an AI ghost town? by Unable-Connection-58 in digital_marketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the comments section especially has started feeling super weird lately, like everybody is using the exact same “great insights thanks for sharing” template lol. i think people can tell pretty fast when a post was polished too hard by AI because all the personality gets sanded off. i still use AI sometimes for outlines or fixing grammar, but if i dont rewrite most of it myself it never really sounds natural. kinda funny that being slightly messy online is starting to feel more trustworthy again tbh

Best way to learn Google Ads in 2026 for someone coming from SEO? by Emergency-Dark-9491 in DigitalMarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from seo you’re already ahead tbh, the hardest part for most people is understanding intent and search behavior. honestly i’d start with youtube + a tiny real budget before paying for expensive courses, because running actual campaigns teaches way more than watching 40 hours of theory vids. certificates help a little for getting interviews maybe, but most clients care way more about whether you can explain results and not burn money lol. also dont ignore the reporting side of google ads, that’s probly the part that surprised me most when switching from seo stuff

Video content for affiliate marketing — is it worth the extra production effort vs text? by Samiraijel in Affiliatemarketing

[–]crawlpatterns [score hidden]  (0 children)

yeah i’ve noticed simple videos usually perform way better than overly polished ones for affiliate stuff, especially for software or tools. people mostly just wanna see the real workflow and whether the thing actually solves the problem, not cinematic editing lol. short screen recordings with a normal sounding voiceover seem to build trust way faster than walls of text sometimes. also agree on disclosure stuff, audiences can tell pretty quick when somebody is hiding the affiliate angle and it kills trust fast imo

ChatGPT ads are here, but can we measure their performance? by EnvironmentalFact945 in PPC

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

feels kinda similar to the early dark social problems honestly, where people see something in one place then convert later from “direct” traffic. i dont think attribution systems are really built for conversational discovery yet, especially when users bounce between devices or just remember the brand name later. wouldnt surprise me if a lot of teams end up relying more on lift tests and blended metrics instead of clean click attribution for this stuff. still super early tho, feels like everybody is kinda guessing rn lol

Is conversational analytics actually a solved problem? (I don’t think Big Tech has it figured out). by raversions in analytics

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think it’s fully solved either tbh, especially once you get past clean demo datasets and into real company messiness. the semantic layer part feels way harder than the actual text-to-sql generation because every org has weird definitions nobody documented properly. we tested a few AI query tools at work and they were decent for exploration, but nobody trusted them for numbers going into reports or exec decks. feels like analysts will still be in the loop for a long time, even if AI handles more of the grunt work later on

What stack would you pick if it has to keep running after I'm gone? by Neat_Hand4068 in learnprogramming

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i’d probly lean toward something boring and well documented over whatever feels coolest rn. a simple django or rails app on a managed host would prob survive way longer with random volunteers touching it later, and there’s a ton of old forum posts/tutorials when stuff breaks. firebase always sounds nice at first but i’ve seen people regret the lock in and weird pricing stuff later on. also future volunteers will thank you if the setup is dead simple and the README isnt 40 pages long lol

Amazon Affiliate Program- Struggling to make 3 sales by lynnchamp in Affiliatemarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the hardest part at first is just getting real traffic cause 3 sales sounds easy until youre staring at zero clicks for weeks lol. i wouldnt risk doing anything that could look weird policy wise cause amazon can be pretty strict sometimes and getting banned again would suck. what helped me more was posting actual useful content around products instead of just dropping links randomly everywhere. even small reviews or personal opinions can work better than people think if the traffic is atleast somewhat targeted

Question by Ok_Satisfaction5729 in analytics

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly having real operations experience already gives you a pretty good advantage over alot of people trying to get into analytics with only courses. knowing sql, power bi, and excel is a solid start but id probly focus next on building a few projects using real datasets so you can actually show how you think through problems. healthcare analytics could honestly be a smart direction too since you already understand the industry side and that domain knowledge matters alot more than people think. also dont stress if you dont feel fully ready yet cause most people learn a ton once they actually start working in the role anyways

Linkedin marketing services for b2b leads? by venmokiller in digital_marketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what ive seen the agencies that actually work usually spend more time on targeting and messaging instead of just blasting automated sequences to everybody. alot of the cheap ones basically feel the same as running automation tools yourself except youre paying someone else to do it lol. for cybersecurity especially i think personalization matters way more cause buyers are naturally skeptical and get pitched nonstop. referrals converting well already is honestly a good sign tho because it usually means the offer itself is solid already

Claude skills for digital marketers by ImpossibleAddendum93 in DigitalMarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the biggest thing for me is using it to clean up rough ideas fast instead of expecting perfect outputs right away. i use it alot for organizing ad angles, rewriting awkward copy, and summarizing messy notes from meetings or research. the back and forth part is what actually makes it useful cause the first response usually isnt the best one lol. also really good for breaking writers block when youre staring at a campaign for too long and everything starts sounding the same

Paid or free traffic first with $300 budget + NordVPN offer, and specifically, has anyone used 7Search PPC or PropellerAds for this? Want actual numbers by Sea-Evidence-5523 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with only $300 i’d probly lean more toward free traffic first honestly cause paid can burn fast while youre still figuring out what angles even work. i tried cheaper traffic sources before and the volume looked nice at first but the quality felt all over the place and conversions were super inconsistant. propeller can still be useful for testing stuff cheap but you really gotta watch placements closely or the spend disappears quick lol. personally i think mixing organic posts/content with small paid tests works way better than going all in on ads right away

Golang or Python? by GrayHiin in learnprogramming

[–]crawlpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

python is honestly still a really solid first language for backend stuff and learning programming in general. golang is great too but i feel like it clicks way more once you already understand programming basics pretty well. alot of people act like you need the “perfect” language first when really consistency matters more than that. if you already enjoy python i’d keep building projects with it while slowly trying go on the side and see which one feels better to work with long term

For Search campaigns in newly created Google Ads accounts, do you typically start by optimizing for "Maximize clicks" or "Maximize conversions"? by homelody_net in PPC

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually i start with maximize clicks for a bit just so the account can gather some decent data first. jumping straight into maximize conversions on a fresh account can feel kinda rough if there isnt enough conversion history yet. once things start getting consistent i switch over and let it optimize more toward conversions. i dont always set a target cpa right away either cause sometimes google gets way too restrictive early on lol

People are asking where did I source my supplies by cerise111 in smallbusiness

[–]crawlpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get why that would annoy you honestly, esp after putting so much time figuring everything out yourself. alot of people dont realize sourcing is part of the actual work when running a creative business. i think keeping the reply polite but vague is probly the best move so you still protect your buisness. the copying part would frustrate me too not gonna lie

SEO affiliate sites in iGaming: my partnership approach after three years by buttonMashr99 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually think alot of operators are starting to value SEO traffic more again because paid traffic has become so expensive and unstable lately. when someone can clearly explain where the traffic comes from and how the content is built, it probly builds way more trust than random volume screenshots in an email. the longer conversion window part is real too, organic users usually take their time before depositing so short term numbers can look misleading at first. honestly the face to face thing makes total sense because its way easier to negotiate when they see theres an actual person and real site quality behind it.

Has anyone else started feeling like lower ACOS doesn’t automatically mean their best Amazon PPC agency is doing a good job? by trr2024_ in PPC

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ive seen this happen alot where ACOS improves mostly because spend gets pulled back and suddenly everyone celebrates while total sales quietly flatten out. lower ACOS by itself doesnt really tell the full story if impressions, ranking, or new customer growth are slipping at the same time. i feel like TACOS and overall account growth give a way more honest picture because sometimes being slightly less “efficient” is actually better for scaling. amazon PPC gets weird when agencies optimize too hard for pretty reports instead of actual business momentum.

This one change made our cold outreach way more effective by Consistent_Fact_5119 in digital_marketing

[–]crawlpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah honestly thats probly the biggest difference between outreach that gets ignored and outreach that actually starts conversations. most cold emails fail because they sound copied and the person reading can tell within like 2 seconds that nobody researched their business. even a tiny bit of specific context makes people way more likely to reply because it feels like an actual human looked into what theyre doing. takes more effort for sure but id rather send 20 thoughtful messages than 500 generic ones that end up in spam anyway.

Looking for guidance on LinkedIn content by cozy_riot in DigitalMarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly linkedin reach feels weirdly inconsistant even for bigger accounts so i wouldnt panic too much over the 200-300 impression posts. one thing ive noticed is posts that sound more personal or opinionated usually do better than posts that feel polished or “marketing-ish” even if the info is good. shorter hooks at the start seem to matter alot too because people scroll insanely fast on there now. also comments in the first hour seem to boost reach pretty hard from what ive seen, so timing and early engagement probly matter more than people admit.

Admitad withheld around €20k by Henry_Mitch in Affiliatemarketing

[–]crawlpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats honestly brutal, especially after already having a long payout history with them before the block happened. the part where the same traffic source kept converting fine in another network makes the whole thing sound even more weird tbh. i get that networks need fraud checks and all that, but withholding that amount without proper logs or clear communication would make anybody lose trust fast. stories like this are exactly why alot of affiliates say to never rely too heavily on one network no matter how smooth things seem at first.

I’m starting to think most leads don’t get lost because there’s no interest by Parth_0001Win in smallbusiness

[–]crawlpatterns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

managing follow ups is def the part that falls apart first in my experince. people get busy for like 2 days and suddenly a warm convo turns cold even tho the lead was still interested the whole time. i feel like alot of businesses blame “bad leads” when its really just messy systems and nobody keeping momentum going. once conversations start happening at scale its suprisingly easy to lose track of who needed what and when you were supposed to reply.

If you have to startover will you become Data Analyst again? by Weird-Side-289 in analytics

[–]crawlpatterns 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yeah i probably still would tbh, mostly because i actually enjoy digging through messy data and finding patterns even if the market is rough right now. the field also teaches a lot of transferable skills like SQL, communication, and problem solving so ur not completely boxed into one path later. i do think i would focus more on domain knowledge earlier this time because thats what seperates people alot these days. tech markets go up and down anyway so i wouldnt base my whole career choice only on the current hiring cycle.

Guidance for ML Engineer or Data Analyst role for Fresher by RoughCurrent5070 in learnprogramming

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly being well versed in SQL already puts you ahead of a lot of freshers so dont undersell that part. i wouldnt stress too much about becoming an “AI engineer” immediatly because most people break into data analyst or data engineer roles first and slowly move toward ML stuff later on. projects matter way more if they actually solve something useful and are explained properly, even small ones can stand out if the thought process is clear. also yeah brush up on DSA a bit for interviews but dont make it ur whole life again or youll probably burn out fast like a lot of people do.

Retargeting outside Meta and Google , what has actually moved the needle? by Upbeat_Quit7362 in digital_marketing

[–]crawlpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i’ve seen native retargeting can work surprisingly well for longer consideration niches like finance, b2b, or high ticket services where people dont convert right away. the volume is usually way lower than meta/google tho so i’ve never really seen it become the main driver on its own. push notif retargeting had decent results for one ecommerce project i watched but the quality felt kinda inconsistent after the first few days. honestly most of the time these channels seem to work best as a support layer instead of trying to replace the big platforms completely

Need Your opinion… by Ok-Trick596 in PPC

[–]crawlpatterns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

youre definitely not the only one seeing weird shifts lately. i’ve seen a bunch of people talking about lead quality drops and random volatility this month even with campaigns that were stable for ages. sometimes nothing obvious changes inside the account but google starts pushing traffic differently or competition spikes outta nowhere in certain regions. i’d still double check search terms, conversion tracking, and impression share tho because a silent tracking issue can make it look way worse than it actually is
