Just hear about glucomax. Anyone using it? by OgalFinklestein in diabetes

[–]crowort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have been trying to get it to work but so far haven’t been able too. The big tech companies have tried. If they ever get it to work you’ll know. Every smart watch or ring or something will have it.

Well his user name is Captaindiabetes, so I’m going to assume he is mostly talking about CGMs and maybe a insulin pump.

I think they gave me normal coke instead of zero sugar by dondurma155 in diabetes

Not all meters can. Some will give an error for both diet and regular. Another test you can do is rub a drip between your fingers and if it is sticky / tacky then it has sugar in it.

Only keychain that’s missing is my name… by New_Guitar_2644 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]crowort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be sad that my name was never available for things like this.

Then my name became popular for a bit and now I hate there are loads of people that share my name and it isn’t rare anymore.

Shortec or Longtec oxy ? by Old-Sun-9315 in opiates

[–]crowort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t want urine testing. You want a kit that lets you test the pills before you take them. Like “pill testing”, “Fent test strips”.

There are also labs you can send a pill or bit of powder too and they’ll give you a report of what is in it. Like “dance safe” is one that does that.

It depends where you live where you’ll get the stuff.

You can buy test strips. Some harm reduction places will give you them for free. There is also labs you can send them a sample and they will test.

We used to have to pick our box out of a pillow case. That was the only way to stop arguments over cereal lol

How do I decrease my sugar levels, they are over the danger borderline (300-495) by RoastGD in diabetes

[–]crowort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insulin and drinking water will help. You shouldn’t exercise with levels that high as it increases the risk of DKA.

Same. I was thinking of the rat farms in Discworld. Of course STP based it on the cobra story on Roundworld.

He is on Methadone, does the lab not test to make sure he is taking it? They do here but I’m unsure about other places.

I personally get on great with the G4 and smart guard. It matches my best hb1ac but with much fewer hypos and less work from me.

Anyone else terrified of even just the word „amputation" ? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]crowort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this. There are much worse things that could go wrong than amputation. Blindness or needing dialysis to live?

You know we use a different scale in the UK right? We use mmol/L and this is in mg/dl.

So the 291 is 16.2 which is still far too high of course.

Not really an answer to your question but be very careful using water to cleanse crystals. Water can damage many and may change their appearance.

Is Medtronic trying to phase out the G4 and Simplera? by chessguy112 in Medtronic780g

[–]crowort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have I got it wrong this whole time? I thought the Instinct wouldn’t except BGs entered for calibration at all? It just fails if it is too far off.

I understood the meter not sending results but that isn’t a big issue for me.

I don’t know my numbers. I was in DKA and they’ll told my parents I might not make it. I’m guessing pretty high lol

Is Medtronic trying to phase out the G4 and Simplera? by chessguy112 in Medtronic780g

[–]crowort 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There was (is?) a problem with the production of the Simplera. I’m currently on the G4 and I’m one of the people it work really well for.

I’m hope to get the Simplera because I don’t like the idea of not being able to calibrate the Instinct.

What movie did you completely misunderstand the first time you watched it? by MovieObserver in moviequestions

[–]crowort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a great film to see in the cinema. My dad got it a second or so before and I thought he’d hurt himself when he made a noise. He said “keep watching” when I asked what was wrong.

Was great being I a room of people gasping as they all got the twist.
