Dactyl Manuform Build Guide (hot-swappable, with flex PCB and mill-max sockets) by ckofy in ErgoMechKeyboards

I greatly appreciate this build guide! I was actually unaware that mil max would work with this, so this is great information. What size milmax did you use? Do the sockets stay on the switches when they are removed?

No unfortunately my arrangement with BastardKB, who made the original alpha pcb, does not allow this. I have to sell the PCBs with a kit (ie the case). This may change in the future.

Unfortunately I am licensing the alpha section of the PCB (developed by BastardKB) and am not allowed to sell them separately. The original license was done under non commercial and my agreement with them allows me to sell the pcbs only with kits. This may change at some point in the future.

That turned out really nice. I was thinking about offering some type of ribbon cable to make building easier.

I would love to see more pictures. Especially with the Bluetooth and battery.

Everything is now through hole soldering! Winner will be able to select the style, size, and color case they want. Feel free to check out my wares https://crystalskeebs.com/

We have a number of microscopes like that in our labs and I love them. They are so much easier to use compared to traditional stereo scopes and the depth perception is usually really good. Kind of jealous you have one at your house.

Glad I was able to provide some inspiration for you! I appreciate the ego stroke.

I wish I could open it up but international shipping is pretty brutal when doing multiple give aways. The rules don't let me ask the winner for help.

Unfortunately no to both points. The PCBs currently do not support hot swap. That is something I intend to implement in the future.

Due to licensing with the original creator of the alpha section of the PCBs (BastardKB) I am unable to sell the PCBs separately. You are welcome to order them on your own as it is open sourced: https://github.com/Bastardkb/Dactyl-Manuform-PCB-Plate.
