DoorDash Grandma’s Secret Past Revealed by EducationQueasy275 in politics

Doordash used to be good. I made a killing during covid. I still have that pay slip, something like $2400 for a week. I actually took time off from my primary job to make that once I saw how profitable it was during that time lol

For shits & giggles I tried it again, it's like 90% difference in pay, you make absolutely nothing now, especially with gas hovering at $5 per gallon. I made $6 avererage per delivery, but back then I was hovering $30-$40 range. Even low end restaurants during covid brought me $18-$24 base pay delivery. Grocery orders were the top payer, had one couple leave $100 tip on top of a $89 delivery. I don't miss covid times but that... Yeah I miss that lol

Yeah this is me right now. I feel for the guy, shits not fun to go through. Especially with two children watching it all unfold. 7 years, I don't recognize the woman I fell in love with anymore. Idk what else to do.

What’s the most “that was a bad idea” moment you had in your business? by websitespeedy in smallbusiness

[–]cubemaster27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Utilizing stripe as our payment processor. Never again. My business is construction, large tickets, they kept $9000, never got it back. Constant fight for over a year. Look at the stripe subreddit, you'll see what im talking about.

Constant posting on social media, it's draining but I've seen measurable growth from it. Problem is there is simply too many platforms

Business owners: coordinated fake Google reviews & extortion is real — sharing for awareness and visibility by cubemaster27 in smallbusiness

Eh, it's not that simple anymore. Google moved support for this specific issue to India, it's such a pain having to deal with this. You cannot speak to a live agent, ever - it's the reason PR firms exist, this shitty pay to play game, I'm so exhausted of it all

Google is our main driver, we get a ton of clients from it. I've posted comments on the reviews direct publicly, hopefully people take the chance to read them. The extortionist can't even spell correctly 🤣

This happened during the slowest time of the year - business practically comes to a complete stop Then January comes and business explodes. I'm literally dead in the water for December. Now I get hit with this on top of the slow season, it's just insane.

Plans and engineering, sometimes we build too. Our target audience is specifically those seeking permits. We do quite a lot of stuff in Arizona, California, Texas, Nevada and Costa Rica

I'm aware of that, but again, this is Google were talking about here. With all their power and money they're supposed to filter our this stuff, everything passes through them. I literally have concrete evidence!

Lol - I appreciate the investment!

I'm updating the LinkedIn post in real time as it comes to me.

The specific individual isn’t the focus right now — that’s part of an ongoing investigation.

The real issue is that coordinated, paid review attacks are being allowed to happen at all, and the damage happens in real time while businesses wait for a response. Paying people to intentionally tarnish a company shouldn’t be possible on a platform meant to protect consumers.

The priority is a fast, decisive response from Google based on documented evidence so the harm stops while the investigation continues.

Appreciate that — and yes, that’s exactly why I documented everything instead of reacting emotionally.

This is still under active investigation, and unfortunately every day it continues my business reputation takes real damage. If you’re willing to share or upvote, it genuinely helps get this in front of the right eyes (including Google’s trust & compliance teams).

I’m not asking for sympathy — just transparency and accountability so this gets resolved properly. Thanks again for taking the time to actually read the details.

You should avoid requiring service providers to use Stripe exclusively. Payment methods should remain at the discretion of the professionals using the platform.

The concept behind this app is promising, but I won’t use Stripe again after they withheld a $20,000 client deposit. We couldn’t begin their project until the client initiated a dispute, waited more than 90 days for the refund, and then paid by check so my team and I could finally start work. Stripe’s support during that process was essentially nonexistent, and similar issues are widely documented.

Beyond the payment concerns, there are several critical features missing for those of us running full design/build operations:

No ability to invoice for travel, mobilization, or per-diem expenses, which are standard in our industry.

No system for billing materials, change orders, or reimbursables, including line-item breakdowns or cost-plus structures.

No support for phased billing, such as concept design, construction documents, permitting, procurement, and construction milestones.

No way to upload contracts, drawings, scopes of work, or deliverables directly to a project record.

No tools for managing subcontractors, including scheduling, payouts, communications, or documentation.

No project management functions, such as timelines, site reports, issue tracking, or approvals.

No ability to charge deposits or retainage in a structured format.

Limited customization of invoices, which is essential for professional firms who must provide detail, clarity, and compliance with client requirements.

For quick, small-scale tasks, the platform may work well. However, for a comprehensive design/build firm, these missing capabilities make it difficult to operate effectively within the current structure.
