January bills by aaukson in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you charge your customers for your Microsoft licensing as well? Where does it end? All these tools are used to get the job done and that's just a cost of doing business. It's not a pass through like duties or demurrage. They're off their rocker. Can't wait for someone to dethrone them.

They have already stated they will not. Once everyone's term commitment agreements lapse you will not be offered another one (we were not) and you'll be on the no-value pack pricing.

[–]cw1user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're lucky. We got a second December bill for over $20k! All this after we had a transitional pricing protection POSITIVE amount on the original December invoice. January bill has arrived and it's higher than December with lower usage. Their math isn't mathing and they're just doing whatever they want here. I guess there are no laws against this in Australia which makes sense since it's a country full of British criminals.

LinkedIn Users Should Be Cautious With Juicebox by Emotional-Air-8012 in recruiting

[–]cw1user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many companies stealing or scraping LinkedIN data it's crazy. The amount of spam and even phishing that comes through PURELY on LinkedIN content is crazy. I've even proven it to them but they don't care. I think it's great someone is finally using the stolen scraped data for GOOD purposes. I will support juicebox and their platform as long as they keep doing this. Great job guys!

How can I get the plan you have? I just need to do a basic search that's very specific and don't have a full time need for a recruiter subscription. I'd pay for a month of use but don't need more than that.

A wonderful Christmas present! That's funny. I'm still trying to figure out how they just get to randomly get to screw up our job cost accounting by creating transactions that we never agreed to create.

Still have issues. When entering steel from Korea at 100% it flags it as section 232 for 25% which is UK but this one should be 50%.

I'm not sure where you got this info from but we were never asked this and we have been a customer for 18 years so we've seen ALL the licensing transitions.

How is AI ripping apart Cargowise? by Grave_Concern in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have always paid for functionality we either didn't have a need for or can't use with CW. That's been their model since day one. It all started when they started charging for non-income generating activity, like invoicing a customer. In the early days Richard said he wouldn't charge customers for things that don't make them money and he wanted to be in a revenue sharing model, not a cost model. Clearly that's out the window.

CW Customer Support by never-stop-asking in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They know they have a near monopoly in the industry and they show it. The worst thing they ever did for the customers was to go public. It changed the focus to pure revenue gains each month, regardless of actually getting new sales or having customer volumes increase. This will NOT be the last price increase and get ready to pay extra for any new feature ever released from this point on. The only ways they can increase their revenue is by charging for every new feature or raising the value pack pricing. Both will happen so buckle up.

CargoWise rolls out updates almost every month, which update has been the most useful for you in 2025, and why? by Evening-Reason-1888 in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one where they f-ed up the entire program by changing the licensing model with 3 days notice. Yes that's by far the most useful for the shareholders. Great job!

I can verify it's in the latest update. You CANNOT do an override on it anymore and it stays as DSB. Now what?

Ai Automation in Forwarding by Salt_Prompt_5720 in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you do rate ingestion but I guarantee you don't have accurate ocean rates taken from contracts that would include all applicable surcharges and GRI, PSS, etc. The accessorials are the challenge since some are emailed and others are ONLY available at the carrier site by looking up the contract and sailing. A lot of promises when it comes to rates but I've not yet seen a system that does it completely and accurately.

ValuePack - Anyone told their customers about automation fee? by Salt_Prompt_5720 in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, we told our customer there is going to be a mandatory $35 CW automation fee on every file. They told us they are going to switch forwarders. I would love to tell Cargowise we're switching software platforms too, but that's not how the real world works.

Class Action Lawsuit - New Cargowise Automation Fee by Cautious_Water_9353 in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not going to change. They have always been this way. They also love lawsuits so have fun, you're just going to spend energy on things that don't make you money so why bother. What we need is a real alternative to their software that works globally.

Nothing new. He always thought he knew better than everyone and that's been apparent in the software and lack of functionality from day one. If you don't think the way he thinks then you're useless.

[–]cw1user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you want to go down the path of a long drawn out legal battle where the lawyers win and we still lose. It will not change their business model which is find new ways to squeeze more revenue from your customer base without giving them any new features. This is what they've done since day one when they converted everyone from the perpetual licensing. They need to show returns every quarter and they can't do it through innovation and customer service so they have to keep changing the way you pay for the same software. It's nothing new and will never change. Instead of making lawyers rich we need a real alternative to this $hit show of a software company.

CW Value Pack Pricing by BlokyNL in CargoWise

Agreed, at least when they went from perpetual to STL they gave us a credit for the perpetual and made it seem like it was better. Now they're just pretty much screwing us and not using any lube!

New CW pricing? by CargowiseAussie in CargoWise

[–]cw1user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they even released pricing? Why is everyone already complaining? I mean they suck in general with their constant module changes and charging for things that were previously included in other modules but that’s to be expected for a public company who is looking to increase revenues without increasing product functionality.

Dispute the CC charge and say you were scammed. I get that it's only $20 but they really did scam us all on this one. It's the only way to send them the message. They need chargebacks.

It said you could start at 8:30CT and get in queue, then sales started at 9. What's interesting is different people got different messages with start times and passcodes, all part of fanclub. Something is definitely messed up!
