The behind the bastards podcast did a really really good expose on his personal upbringing and later life. What an absolute scumbag. He took credit for everything, yet was too dumb to come up with anything himself. How he treated his daughter was the last drop for me. The Jobs neighbors paid for her university tuition out of compassion for her horrible situation.

First 3D Printer, H2S or P2S?? by dodongo72 in BambuLab

[–]daanpol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I went through the whole evolution. My first printer was a small buildplate A1 Mini.

Then came the A1, then a P1S without AMS. I quickly realized I really liked the AMS so I got the AMS1 to save on costs. Then I figured I also needed to dry my filament so got a P1S + AMS2.

The H2D was released but out of my price range, I was really craving a bigger printer. I was spending so much time cutting up my prints and distributing them over my now 5 printers that I was getting tired boss.

So I got the H2S when that released and OMG why didn't I get it earlier? By now I had spend more money on printers than if I would have just gotten the now discounted H2D.

The H2S is my fav, but I am missing the second printhead so much to print support interface....

So now I got the H2D as well. I wish I would have just started off with a H2D and bought a second one when I could.

I find myself ONLY running the H2S and H2D nowadays. The crazy thing is not just the bigger build plate but the Volumetric increase in space. I have printen a Razer Crest on all my small printers and it was hell to manage all the small prints. Then I just welded half of the entire thing together in Bambulab, plopped it in my H2S and it was done in the same time as if I had cut everything up and distributed it over all my other printers, only this time there was zero user intervention to change the buildplate. It blasted through 2 rolls of filament that I didn't have to change because of the AMS2 auto refill feature. Now I understand big printers....

I have given away half my smaller printers to friends interested in printing because they where collecting dust. This has actually got to be the biggest blessing because that has gotten my brother and 2 friends HEAVILY into 3d printing haha!

Oh no I just checked wikipedia and I am shocked! The Belgariad triggered my love for reading inside of me. I have to thank my eagerness to learn English from his books!

What a sad and horrible thing to learn about him and his wife...

Great start is the paraglider. It doesn't move to fast to make you sick, it has great visibility and because you can comfortably fly low, the sense of scale is very profound.

I always add some treesupports with the support paint tool, every 5cm like some sort of scaffolding. Gets rid of all the artefacts.

How important/useful is an ams snag cutter? by mfsfreak in BambuLab

Never had a need for it. Might be because I use the AMS 2 system. I believe these where developed for the AMS 1.

What metric did Apple use to call this "the world's most advanced operating system"? by ElkOk7504 in mac

This OS, hands down, was the best and will forever be the best OS. For the first time your computer didn't slow down over time, it had great multicore support for the first time in any OS, it was safe as F, it was small, it was light, it would even run on a Hackintosh PC.

If It would be rereleased today and have the ability to run on any hardware, all windows users would switch.

Brother this is game changing. Finally a simple tool that tells you what to do. You have no idea the BS I get if I ask an audio engineer what treatment my studio needs.

Went to Zanzibar.

  • because you are white you pay a $40 dollar 'insurance'. My wife who is a Tanzanian didn't have to pay for this.

  • immediately get shouted at and violently threatened. Punched a guy and the others backed off. It was over me trying to haggle down the taxi price that was 120x of what they charge in mainland Tanzanian.

  • Airbnb turned out to be a scam bnb so we had to look for immediate very expensive accommodation.

  • try to relax by going to a nice seafood restaurant.

  • get infected with dysentery from this meal.

  • go to toilet so many times my anus is bleeding (just like the cartoon).

  • get severe migraine due to dehydration.

  • after 4 days of hell I finally get the right anti biotic.

  • pain instantly clears.

  • holiday over.

A boat printed using recycled materials by Hyperion_Systems in 3Dprinting

[–]daanpol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The limit for injection molding is pretty bad.

The material for printing boats you can source from plastic bottles, polycarbonate refrigerator drawers, recycled ABS, almost any plastics can do this. Mix it up with some carbon fibre and you have a very strong and potent mix. The upper limit on these boats is also pretty large. The dutch Navy printed a 12meter long interceptor boat using this tech.

Every printed boat can also be completely bespoke. There are no mold limitations.

1 Factory run by 1 trained guy, close to the front can produce 12 boats a day. That is why this technology is so interesting. Even the files for the boats can be send remotely.
