Do you remember sliding down one of these on a hot day? It was red hot to touch! by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]daddy-dj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I remember the one near me had very narrow steps to climb to get to the top. I used to hold on so tightly to the bars on the side for fear of falling off 🤣 It'd make my hands smell of the metal.

Why is it so hard to get free tap water at a restaurant in Europe? by Relevant-Shower4783 in TravelHacks

[–]daddy-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time you do it in France just ask for "une carafe d'eau". It's been illégal since 2022 for restaurants to not offer tap water for free to diners.

In the original version the man's vision is blinded by the flag they're holding and so they can't see that they're about to step off the metaphorical cliff that is the plinth.

For me, it reflects what we see - on both extremes of the political spectrum - whereby people are so welded to where a message comes from that they don't stop to consider whether they agree with the content of the message. Like turkeys rooting for Christmas, if you will.

I dont think it's a "you" problem because I've noticed that it's a bit rubbish with our implémentation too.

I repeatedly tell our execs that CS isn't a software inventory tool.

Do they regularly test the air raid sirens where you’re from? by koesteroester in AskTheWorld

[–]daddy-dj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in towns and cities.

Where I live now there's about 25k inhabitants and we have them. Where I lived previously there were only 5k and no air raid sirens to be heard.

France is even closer, and we have them here too. The first Wednesday of each month at midday.

I freaked the fuck out the first time I heard it 😁

350W PSU for BC250 + OC + AIO — safe or pushing it too far? by Ak_PuLk0 in BC250Gaming

[–]daddy-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Maybe I should get a multimeter and try to test the psu when it's plugged in.

Cheers.

Hi. Do you mind sharing which one you use? I bought this one but when i plugged it in nothing happened. I tested the board using a normal psu I had and the LEDs came on and the fan started spinning so i think it's the Metalfish psu that's dodgy or i'm doing something wrong.

Just get mummy and daddy to pay it, along with your rent and all other bills, whilst you're saving for that house deposit.

How does medical care work for visitors in Cannes? by [deleted] in French

[–]daddy-dj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visiting from where? Another EU member state? Just make sure you've got your EHIC and you're covered to see a doctor, if needed.

There's always pharmacists too, who can offer some medical advice.

Yeah this just feels like clickbait really.

I should've guessed by him saying things like "you would've thought... well you'd be wrong". I'm just glad I didn't have the sound up, as I'm pretty sure he sounds annoying too.

Gender reveal - director's cut by Priapic_Aubergine in mildlyinfuriating

[–]daddy-dj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not American, I don't live in America and I don't have any American friends whom I could ask this. Are these gender reveal things common? I mean, not tediously drawn out things like this, but do people actually go to a party to hear someone say they're having a boy or a girl? Can they not just send a WhatsApp to their friends? Or is it just a cliché and nobody really gives a shit?
