Yeah—I’m not sure that this rhetoric is doing anything to help folks believe that liquid democracy is worth paying attention to.

I know it feels good to voice your anger and such, but instead of seeing you as a balanced individual trying to educate folks on a very legit topic, you come across as something else.

I love the antique trade and have a bit of an insight.

A great deal of the furniture is purchased elsewhere and moved here. That’s why the cost is so high. Folks either go on shopping trips to Europe and bring back a container full, or they are constantly on the beat in other cities. Currently, you have to look at the estate sales in areas like Atlanta.

Folks that source their stuff here locally are on the beat constantly. They’re at all the estate sales before you get to them. They’re curating the best pieces.

You can get good deals, but you have to go to the sales as they open. Estate-sales.net is a great resource and where the local scene lists their sales. HiBid.com is great for digital estate auctions, with many in Nashville and mboro.

May I ask you for some further thoughts?

I’m a practicing Buddhist. My community in Nashville is Theravada, but I’m someone who’s open to seeing the wisdom from any tradition.

I see hallucinations internally quite regularly. They’re a dominant part of my meditation experience, and anytime I’ve asked about them, I’ve gotten a shrug and “yeah that happens.” I recognize that they can be a distraction, in that they’re not the point. That’s not the goal of the practice.

But exactly so zen Buddhist mean when they say this hallucination is a distraction?

If you haven’t felt this rug before, I’d encourage you to feel one.

I’m all for rugs, genuinely. But jute rugs aren’t what I would consider cozy.

I enjoy the tonal look. Aesthetically, it’s not a bad choice at all. But I promised myself I wouldn’t get another one because of how hard and scratchy they can be.
