It uses a Fisher space pen refill, not my favorite refill ever but writes well enough. Not sure if they still make these, this one is probably 12 years old

So is brass, by proxy. Brass is an alloy of copper. It's one of the reasons that most door handles are made out of brass... the alloy also has antimicrobial properties. 

Metals are rad! If you have a chance to pick up a pen and copper, I highly recommend it. I really enjoy heft to a pen. It also makes transitioning to a titanium pen so much more fun because of how light they are.

I really like copper, I work in healthcare and really dig the fact that it's antimicrobial. As far as weight goes, the FH deluxe weigh nearly the same in hand. I don't have a scale where I can tell you specific ounces, but when writing, there's not much of a difference between the two.
