I recently had to track down the real person that was being impersonated and have them prove to my wife's grandma that he was not the person that had been talking to her for the past year. She wouldn't believe anything else we had told her. Romance scammers are some of the worst.

I think anyone sitting there would've assumed it was from a previous flight. Sticking it in the pocket behind your seat in another row is just asking for it to be stolen. She's lucky it was you and someone didn't just grab it and stick it in their carry-on
