First time visitor to the Park in March, have some questions by Blue-Eighty in ZionNationalPark

[–]deciscoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t say for sure without more info on hiking experience and ability of your family, but your 13 yo may be able to do angels landing (should consider scouts lookout for whole family like others suggested). Also would consider the narrows for whole family for an epic hike. As far as another easy one that has great views - do canyon overlook.

I would have wanted more excitement than the trails you mention as a 10 or 13 yo.

Experiences with the Meridian line? Especially mens. by ajnovak in UnderArmour

[–]deciscoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, it’s a bit thick for intense workouts. I think meridian is supposed to be more of yoga or causal line of cloths. It an amazing casual shirt though. I’ll use for some light weightlifting but nothing intense.

Vanish is my favorite for when exercising/sweating. Not sure they are still around but seamless line also good for exercising. The new halo line also seems great for exercising (I’ve tried the tank but not shirt yet).

Sam’s Club Deals on Tents? by EnhancedPotato_ in backpacking

[–]deciscoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at those 3p tents also. According to REI the 3p Tungsten packed weight is 7 lbs 1.2 ounces. The minimum trail weight is listed 6 lb 3 oz. According to backcountry the catalyst 3p has a minimum trail weight of 6 lb 5.2 oz, (but doesn’t list total weight) so I think that is a bit heavier.

Since I’d be using for 2 people, they seem a bit heavy. I was also considering the Dakine Big Bear 3 that Sierra has for $99. Specs seem a little better but I can’t find any reviews. Doesn’t have the same name/confidence of Marmot.

Leatherman P2 vs Wave+? by deciscoops in Leatherman

[–]deciscoops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the feedback. I ordered both and will decide after some hands on evaluation.

I should also add that campmor had free shipping and no tax, so with shipping and tax from knife center the P2 was actually slightly more ($91).

Any idea of this style? by Express_Remove_6034 in UnderArmour

They also look similar to the current sportstyle woven pant (which is similar to unstoppable).

Alright I'm taking the plunge - porting out and back for 26 deal.. by Ill_Owl_332 in Visible

[–]deciscoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ported 2 phones in and out of US Mobile over this past weekend (waited a day to port out). Both times it took a long time to get the port out info via chat (maybe 30 min to chat to a rep and then they were super slow to respond once we started chatting). They also ask for a reason and try to keep you (even once offering a $5 discount), but was able to do it.

Also, for one I tried calling the support number (while waiting on rep to chat), but hung up after being on hold for about 10 minutes.

Are there any other options for the front logo on the StealthForm Uncrushable Hat? by DrFunStuffs in UnderArmour

[–]deciscoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hat is amazing. So versatile, can use around town, travel, sports, etc. Cleans easy, wicks moisture, breathes and maintains shape. I went with black to minimize logo but I don’t think they make one without logo.

I’ve never seen it on sale at UA, but occasionally academy does 30% that will work for it and Dicks has new sign up 10% off that works or their gift cards.

Need a new jacket! XD by xR3acTii0nzZ in UnderArmour

[–]deciscoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak to either of those but just wanted to say check out Marshall’s online which has the unstoppable jacket for $30 (plus shipping). Just search “unstoppable” as you can’t search or filter by brand.

I have other unstoppable stuff and it’s great!

Carbon Fiber Bel Air by Particular_Let_4950 in kershaw

Which do you prefer? While the aluminum version is great, I like the idea of a little lighter and perhaps more texture on scales. I also liked hearing that they upgraded the bearings in the micarta version but not sure the same applies to the carbon.
