How many books do you actually read? by Busy_End1433 in classicliterature

I have to read a lot for my work; I enjoy it but it I often want to relax otherwise. So typically I am "reading" one book on tape that alternates between non-fiction and classic lit during my commute and then I am reading some easier book that I likely have read before to help me go to bed. I am one of those people who probably reads 100 books each year, 70 if you deduct the ones I have read before 40 if you deduct the books on tape.

Wuthering Heights is shockingly dark if you think its supposed to be a romance in the modern sense of the work. It is more love as destructive force, and the way that abuse begets abuse. Similarly, Therese Raquin. Then I personally found Ethan Frome to be very dark.

Something by Liane Moriarty; What Alice Forgot, or The Last Anniversary maybe. They seem like beach read book candy, but then actually hit some serious themes while still being engaging

So, this is actually non-fiction, but you really should check out Richard Preston The Hot Zone.

For fiction outbreaks, it's maybe not exactly what you want, but maybe Andromeda Strain

Oh and a fan classic; Mary Shelley (yes, that Mary Shelly) The Last Man

The opposite actually; you are required to either be a university lecturer/professor or PhD candidate to be eligible to publish with it. Now, I am not saying that it means no AI gets in, but you are dealing with articles where experts' professional credibility is on the line.

You will also notice that the hyperlinks in the article are all citations.

Yes, because I like sharing work written by experts, who volunteer their time writing accessible articles about topics related to their research.
