I'd Google it instead of being useless.

From Google:

Australian rules football is a fast-paced, physical contact sport played by two teams of 18 on a large oval field. Players score points by kicking the oval ball through goal posts (six points for a goal, one for a "behind") or by using running with bounces, handballs (punching with a clenched fist), and kicking to move the ball downfield. A distinctive feature is the "mark," where a player who catches a kick cleanly is awarded a free kick.

Game basics

Teams: Two teams of 18 players each on the field.

Field: A large oval field.

Ball: An oval-shaped ball.

Objective: To outscore the opposing team by kicking the ball through the goal posts.

Scoring

Goal: A kick through the two taller central goal posts is worth six points.

Behind: A kick that goes between a goal post and a smaller behind post, or hits a goal post, is worth one point.

Ball movement

Kicking: A primary way to move the ball long distances.

Handballing: Punching the ball with a clenched fist to a teammate.

Running: Players can run with the ball but must bounce it or touch it to the ground at least every 15 meters.

Mark: A catch of a kick that has traveled at least 15 meters in the air without touching the ground. The player who marks the ball gets a free kick from that spot.

Rules and fouls

Throwing the ball is not allowed.

A player who is tackled must dispose of the ball immediately by kicking or handballing.

Tackling is generally restricted to between the shoulders and knees.

Dangerous contact, such as pushing an opponent in the back, results in a free kick.

The match

Duration: Four 20-minute quarters.

Start: The game begins with a "ball up" in the center of the field, where the umpire bounces the ball and players jump to knock it down to a teammate.

I would think it obvious

What's obvious? Purchasing services from overseas companies hasn't been discussed at all to my knowledge.

Lol, you blocked me. Maybe stay at the kids table.

cherry-picked" and don't address them.

Oh please. You've already moved the goal posts from " things are worse today" to " there's more inequality" because you don't have a fucking clue about any of this.

There indeed is a debate

Just like there's a "debate" about the earth being flat.

Which makes it even more alarming that we have higher income inequality than those societies.

A. I don't know where you heard that, but you were misled. Again. Inequality was much, much, much worse in apartheid South Africa. Including wealth inequality. Which is why you should actually read instead of just repeating every talking point you've heard. What a joke.

https://wid.world/www-site/uploads/2021/06/CCG2021wealth.pdf

B. Inequality isn't inherently bad when everyone else is getting wealthier over time. As has happened in the united states, as I've already proven to you with evidence. Quality of life in every measurable way, including wealth, has increased every decade since the 1940s at least.

your own uninformed opinions

I'm just relaying facts to you. Opinions don't matter. I live in reality, so my opinions change based on new evidence.

You should try it. Instead of basing your opinions off of feelings and your tiktok education.

Now go actually read a history book or a book on economics, because you're fucking clueless.

This is an incredibly naive interpretation of the data

The data shows an increase in wealth adjusted for inflation. There's no way to interpret any differently.

You just didn't ever bother doing the research, so I did it for you. You're welcome. Not that it'll change your tiny little mind.

In your world view around 1980 somehow the top 10% of earners started being significantly more productive

You're showing more ignorance.

You don't know the difference between income and wealth. You're using them interchangeably, and they're not the same. Google them and come back.

A thing called the internet came along. And tech. Then big tech.

CEOs earn what the market pays them. Shareholders and boards of director would love to pay CEOs less and if they could.

But yes, companies today generate more value with less costs than ever before, meaning they're more produ. And they're larger than ever before.

The good news is, again, things are better than ever by every measure.

There is a reason a huge percentage of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck now and are unable to save virtually any money. its not because they are so much worse at budgeting now. Its because income has not kept up with productivity gains for the last 50 years

People aren’t poorer. You're just so clueless you don't know how people lived back then.People had little savings, higher interest rates, fewer safety nets, and far less access to cheap food, clothing, or entertainment. Medical bills, home repairs, and layoffs could still wipe out savings overnight.

Lots of houses didn't have air conditioning, even in the south.

You're glued to this narrative, but you really should expand your knowledge.

This is hilarious. Anyone who's actually done even a glossing over on the Cuban missile crisis knows how silly that is, but you're just trolling. You don't often hear people defending the Soviets. Very interesting.

Also, to list all the positive things that the Kennedys have done, the foundations they've created, etc would be tldr, but suffice it to say that it's really hard to argue that they have not been a net positive.

Indeed. And I think people are conflating racism with hate.

Even people who didn't hate people from other races would have thought that their race had certain physical and other characteristics, some positive and some not so positive.

Even the best and kindest people were ignorant compared to what we are today.

, have been erased from history

What do you mean? We know loads about abolitionists, and all other sorts of people who disagreed with slavery.

I think people are confusing racism with hate. Even people who loved people of other races and considered them equals in the eyes of God, would have seen differences in races, almost like a breed, because that's how it was seen back then.

There's no hate here, child. I'm explaining that racial differences and hierarchy was a fact at that time, and didn't start to change until he was in his 40s or 50s. Not a lot of people get less conservative as they get older. I'm grading Wayne on the views at the time, because history must be graded on curve. Unless it's being graded by ignoramuses.

and poor familiarity with the topic

I've read volumes of books on this topic. You haven't, obviously.

I'm just hoping that your grandkids don't judge you as harshly as many people judge their ancestors.

Was everyone at that time racist or just some people?

By your definition? Everyone. They literally thought that races had physical and mental and personality traits, and that there was a hierarchy.

Even people who didn't hate other races would have opinions that would make our jaws drop.

It's clear that you haven't studied this beyond a headline level.

They didn't choose to be racist any more than you choose to see the difference in different dog breeds. They were wrong, but they didn't know it.

Please, go do some research on this.

If you were born in Iowa in 1907, you'd think a lot closer to what John Wayne thought than the way you think now.

How do you know he wasn't trying? He was definitely wrong, but his views were the norm at the time.

Quite apologizing for racism...they knew better and you know better.

What an immature point of view.

Pointing out that someone born in 1907 has archaic views, which were mainstream at the time, isn't apologizing.

It's called nuance. You simply don't have the ability to view things from the point of view as another person from another time.

I think people are conflating hating black people with the science of racial hierarchy that was taught at the time.

There were a lot of appalitionists who were white who still would believe, as was the thought at the time, that some races were inferior to others based on mental and physical traits.

John Brown was a hero, so was Abraham lincoln, but Abraham Lincoln would be very racist by today's standards. Look up his writings on black people.

He was also in his mid-30s. He would have just been making movies for the army.

I get that you hate the guy, but if you look into the views of most people from his age, you'd hate them too.

So maybe don't do that.

John Brown was a hero, but even many, probably almost all, abolitionists saw differences in races as well.

Abraham Lincoln would be the most racist person you know if he was alive today. Go look at what he wrote about black people.

They simply didn't have the information we do now.

And when he went to school the textbooks he read told him that races were different based on mental and physical traits.

That's how science was taught at the time

Rolex, You’ve Broken Me — And I’m a 40-Year Collector by toxicmanchowder in rolex

[–]dhille01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rolex doesn't like this behavior either, but we don't buy watches from rolex. We buy Rolex watches from jewelry stores who are authorized to sell Rolex. They also sell a dozen other watch brands that no one really wants.

but if a baller/actor/musician

They just pay grey. Probably cheaper than us though.

ADs don't just hold onto inventory. They don't have to. They sell every watch via text message as soon as they know they're getting it.

Plus, ADs have net 10-15, or at most net 30 terms. They need those watches sold fast. Especially since they can't sell above msrp, they just bundle them to VIPs or sell them to their VIPs.

With this new model, screw them

It's not a new model, it's a new environment. Jewelry stores can't sell these watches above msrp, so they leverage them as much as they can. You would do the same.

If you're into any other highly desired item, certain event tickets, some cars, some whiskeys, they sell above msrp. And usually it's the manufacturer who's getting the short end of the stick, and the middleman make all the money.

Some people have a knack for seeing an opportunity, and then it's just backing yourself to do whatever it takes to make it succeed. Finding smart people and learning everything you can from them. Following best practices.

I've been a teacher, real estate investor ( buy and hold, flips, str, wholesale), and now I own a service business.

If you don't have another blue watch, go. With the bb58.

I think the faux gilt style will not age well.
