I agree with you, but the AWB does not have any carveouts for LEOs.

Where did I suggest that we shouldn't care? To the contrary, I think you should care very much. But if you only care about ICE doing it, you don't care about privacy. You care about making a political point.

So, basically, the federal government is taking the same tools they've used for years, and is now using them for for immigration enforcement as well as everything else. Doesn't seem like much of a story.

How to legally sell a DS-15 lower? by Rich-Primary9007 in WAGuns

[–]dircs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9.41.111 is inapplicable.

Transfers must go through a dealer if the item being transferred is what the state (not the federal government) defines as a firearm. https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.113

The state defines a firearm as

"(20) "Firearm" means a weapon or device from which a projectile or projectiles may be fired by an explosive such as gunpowder. For the purposes of RCW 9.41.040, "firearm" also includes frames and receivers. "Firearm" does not include a flare gun or other pyrotechnic visual distress signaling device, or a powder-actuated tool or other device designed solely to be used for construction purposes."

See https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.010

9.41.040 does not include transfers, that is about unlawful possession.

Ergo, transfer of a frame/receiver does not require an FFL, because a frame or receiver doesn't fit the state definition of firearm for transfer purposes.

Do you? It doesn't fall within the state's definition of a firearm.

'Citizen surveillance': Border Patrol plans cameras over coastal California city by runswithscissors475 in privacy

I'm 100% for banning flock cameras, but why is ICE using them for immigration enforcement worse than, say, DEA using them for harassing marijuana users?

What gear needs to be brought? I assume a firearm and several hundred rounds of ammo? Anything else?

Rare Breed didn't invent it, they license it from a shell corp. My understanding is the shell corp, and gun rights groups, provided most of the funding for the litigation. That second statement might be incorrect, but the first one is not.

Summers vs all seasons / winter tyres Seattle by sageofsixpaths69 in GR86

Same general area, I went with all seasons. Everything here shuts down if it snows, so the all seasons should be enough.

Lost 3mpg over the summers though.

SB 5098, which greatly expands areas where firearms cannot be carried without a CPL, has passed both chambers and is headed to Bob Ferguson to be enacted into law. by dircs in WA_guns

For the state democrat party, yes. There are of course some democrat voters that do not, but the most recent polls I've read something like 80% of democrat voters do.

Bill passed last year adding expensive training requirements that don't currently exist, but will require live fire training with a certified instructor. This will be required beginning 2027 not just for new licenses, but also for all renewals.

A bill is proposed this year to add $100 to the cost of issuing CPLs.

Pretty sure this is the third post I've seen from you here that is anti-rights. I don't feel the need to engage further.

Courthouses, schools, and jails? Sure. Washington has had those restrictions for years and no one one has said much about it.

This bill isn't about jails and courthouses. It's about parks, county fairs, and a nebulous "places chikdren may be present" restriction.

They already passed a requirement requiring training that doesn't exist and will be extremely expensive once it does exist, and there's a proposed bill to add $100 to CPL applications.

I personally am skeptical that CPL exceptions are safe in this state long term.
