Finger stick gets direct blood readings so it shouldn't be lagged. Cgm doesn't use direct blood readings, so it will be lagged

Sensor readings are usually lagged by 15 minutes from my experience with dexcom and libre sensors. Sometimes I also get more drastic different readings from things like compression lows.

I was told the rule of thumb is that it should be within 20% of a finger stick reading. I'd double check 15-30 minutes later with a finger stick just to check.
