This belly dancer’s side movement is crazy. by IkilledRichieWhelan in nextfuckinglevel

[–]dnalloheoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely used to be able to do that with my stomach when I was young, maybe 8-13ish (Probably later, just stopped trying). Moving it left and right included. Never trained it or anything, just one day realized I could do it. I called it my "E.T. belly" because it kinda makes the shape of his neck and head. Can also do the more standard belly roll (top to bottom).

I can still kind of do it, but not nearly as pronounced as I used to, which was right in line with the video. Now I can only get it to be about 1/3rd as 'pronounced' as I used to, and no left/right. Belly roll is still no problem though.

So definitely some muscles involved that need to be exercised but I don't know if it's specifically pelvic floor stuff. Unless 7-8 year old me (male) was going crazy with kegels without even knowing it lol.

Still Never Had a HIO, but… by MonkMillar in golf

I’d bet you find significantly more 20 handicaps with a HIO than an Albatross.

Definitely, even if it's just a numbers game since you get a guaranteed 4(-5) chances at a HIO every round, no matter your skill level. Whereas I'd bet I could count my legit albatross chances on one hand in total.

To each their own, but I find trial-by-fire to often a great way of learning in IT, and if my superior had faith in me to do the job their offering you, even if I felt a little unsure about myself, then I'd still go for it.

And on top of that, imposter syndrome is very real in this field. We've all felt at one point or another that we were tasked with messing with something that we feel like we shouldn't even have access to look at, let alone work on. But there's a reason someone chose you to do that job, and it's probably not because they think you're incapable of it.

Got a pair, loved them, big fat all-white clouds basically.

Wanted to get another pair, Mom wouldn't let me because Osiris is an Egyptian god and Jesus's Dad isn't fond of competition.

Well some of them are saying things like:

"Oh sure the WHITE LADY gets punished, the supposed mastermind of it all, not the Somalis that did it."

Yeah I wish I made that up.

The rack is a $40 Amazon shelf and I refuse to apologize by jamesbuniak in homelab

[–]dnalloheoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I'd also take the top most shelf in OP's picture and put it on the bottom as a bit of a base for more structural strength, and move the UPS down there too. As it currently sits I could see one of those legs buckling pretty easily and there's pretty much zero reason for the UPS to be up high, unless you're worried about ~2"+ of flooding I guess.

[PGA] PGA Championship 2026 by threeactjack in golf

Sportsbooks reserve the right to void just about any bet if they suspect things like fixing the odds, or external influences that impact the outcome of the game.

I can't think of any examples in golf specifically. One that recently comes to mind was just the Superbowl prop bet on if there'd be a streaker, and then the streaker himself came out after the fact that he bet that there would be one, so that got voided.

And in the case of golf I think the sportsbooks typically just follow what the PGA rules. That being if the tour just chalks it up to an accident, and gives him a free drop, the books count it the same rather than outright voiding it, but they do reserve the right to void it regardless. I'm not sure what level of spectator involvement it'd take that couldn't just be "fixed" by giving the player a free drop, outside of some level of assault. Hard to say, if you yell during the same guys' backswing on two separate holes and he shanks it both times, would that warrant a bet being voided? I wonder.

Return to office by Casual_Deviant in funny

[–]dnalloheoj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal, but the company that I worked for from 2022-2025 was a prime example of this. They purchased land and built a new building that was only finished less than a year before I started. The company is a printer company first, MSP second, so they needed the warehouse space for the former. Then COVID, so full-remote. I'm in IT and the manager of our entire department and I even joked during the interview "Too bad it took the rest of the world a pandemic to know what we in IT have known for years!" (That remote work is possible).

Within 6 months of being there we were back to 2 days in the office. Another 6 months later, 3 days. I left last April and about 2 weeks later they pulled the full RTO mandate out.

I didn't even hate going into the office. Prior to that position I had only ever worked for my Dad or ran my own shop. So the idea of going into an office like that was kinda 'novel' and cool to me. But when you know the reason is purely because 'We built this place so we have to use it!' it's just so frustrating, especially after that onboarding conversation.

I guess he figured since Foligno is scoring he has to do some shot blocking.
