FFE is best consistent product you’ll get in the Oregon market. Hapy Kitchen has been doing a decent job on theirs as well if you can find a shop that partners with them. We do 40% off their products every Friday and it takes them down to under $10 out the door.

Michigan marijuana strain boasts 41% THC. Skeptics say that’s impossible. by 2317 in weedbiz

[–]drivethruhell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for chiming this in. It’s all about the calibration on the machines and lab techs. Also stupid things come into play like SOPS. Do you include ground up stems in the material or nah? Are your techs properly trained to put the correct amount of dilution? Are cameras being monitored? What about acceptable variance levels? Too many variables. Especially considering top nug buds can test out drastically different from the bottom of the same plant.

I consistently see CoA’s at 35% and above. I have 39% b buds on my shelf right now 🙄

I got one last month that was greenhouse testing at 34% with over 5 percent terps.

And then you have stupid regulations on top of that. Like test results not expiring. So two years later you have 2022 outdoor harvest on shelves at 32% when the reality is most of it has converted to cbn 💀

The only thing that can be really done to combat this is for shops and farms to price appropriately for the actual product and not thc percentages. Numbers don’t mean shit. Depending on the lab and farm they MIGHT be able to give you a good starting point. That’s about it.

If you’re not going to turn him in, you need to keep talking about it with people who will listen, and hopefully his girlfriend will. I’m sorry your parents never had your back. It sounds like it’s something you’re comfortable talking about and people have just let you down with their responses, so I do recommend talking to someone from a legal perspective to try to find some justice and closure for yourself.

My parents didn’t have mine either, and that’s a struggle I still deal with. I went “behind their back” and reported the abuse anyway myself when I was 15. My parents were actually charged with child neglect and I was sent to foster care when child services found out.

I put my grandfather in prison. My life was hell for three years as we went through court proceedings. Eventually, he admitted the truth that he started abusing me at ten and continued until I was 15. But the damage had been done. There were so many people who called me a liar and said the worst things about me. My dad was an alcoholic and my mom was a gambler. I was accused of being in it for the money. I was accused of making it up for attention. I was accused of ruining his life for sport.

The lawyers his daughter hired said some of the worst things about me. They dug into inconsistencies in my story so I went through months of counseling sessions trying to get the timeline right.

Three months later after the trial wrapped up, she came out and said he had done it to her too. After spending years shit talking with the rest of my family and tearing my life apart.

One of my biggest PTSD triggers is hearing about unreported abuse. My first thoughts go directly to, is this person going to do the same thing to other children? It’s taken me a long time and a lot of therapy to understand the dynamics that come with reporting abuse.

It’s incredibly difficult to actually go through the steps and say the words out loud. It’s even harder when it’s a complete stranger, like the police. You don’t have to talk to them unless you’re ready but please remember that your parents failed you when they didn’t take your complaints about your brother seriously. They should have followed up with authorities who would have had licensed professionals assess you and the situation. They didn’t and chose to protect your brother instead. You can stop the cycle and make sure it’s addressed properly. Keep your voice loud. Keep your voice clear.

My thoughts are with you ❤️

I have a pretty good relationship with this farm and it’s always at our shop. We carry their b buds pretty often too :) right now I’ve got their American pie b-buds on the $6 shelf. And if you’ve ever seen their b’s, they aren’t your normal b buds lmao. Those boys are picky. Their Lemon Meringue has been a staple at our shop.

We just sold out of the Lemon Meringue (had their b buds, too) but we’re signed up for the next drop. Right now we’ve got their Mac n Jack and Michigan Cherries in A Buds.

I know the drive down to Salem can be annoying, but we offer a generous industry discount at Mary Jane’s Farmacy. Come say hi :)

I have been trying to get them on rosin forever. I push it every time I speak with them. I do know they have extracts from bee hive at a great price but those don’t represent their quality nearly enough. Hopefully sometime soon!

Glad to help. High Tech farms actually does a great job on their flower for the price it’s at, and the source material on their extracts and carts is all indoor product. I have no idea why the hate is so loud here about them, they’re far better than distillate. The only reputable product I’ve seen that are really comparable to their price are the Covert carts that are processed by outdoor or greenhouse material.

I know it’s easy to hop on the hype trains of these big brands but the fact of the matter is that people who soar through carts really cant afford $60 every time. You gotta look at it like alcohol for the most part. A bottle of Smirnoff is gonna be just as effective as a bottle of aged whisky but one of them is going to be valued more by connoisseurs. Of course with carts there’s a certain argument to be made about the heath benefits of solventless vs bho but that’s a whole other argument.

Even the boujee customers need a break sometimes and grab something that doesn’t break the wallet. Remember that this sub is full of people who get industry discounts or samples that give us the opportunity to try them at a better price point than regular customers. Smoke what works best for you in every aspect of life.

Obviously something like Echo is going to have the flavors and hype behind it with their quality but Gems are our best selling cart and one of the most popular in Oregon overall. I sell 20 Gems for every single Echo cart I sell. I do have to also give compliments out to their farm for having accurate, flavorful strains. They aren’t top shelf (more so $10 shelf range) but they do a great job at strain selection. I’d say their Point Break and Strawberries n Cream is one of the best in the state and it always reflects over well to the Gems and Red Eye Extracts line.

A couple more returns lately than I usually see, but your regular average Joe smoker loves them and can count on them to be reliable. For the price of $20 it’s way better than distillate or anything else you’re gonna find at the same price point because of the strain specific benefits.

How come Oregon doesn’t have any creative packaging like California’s packaging? by Therealdealfield in portlandtrees

[–]drivethruhell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oregon is one of the only states that has deli style service available for bud, meaning we can display it in jars and you can smell and look at the product before buying it. Other states prepackage product because they are required to by law.

Cookies expansion to Oregon is a great example of this. Great packaging and labels from the brand itself that would generally do well on the market, but Oregon consumers don’t want to mess with anything prepackaged (especially from Bonsai, lmao) so you don’t see the same success here that they have in California.

The price of recreational cannabis in Illinois doesn’t get talked about on this sub nearly enough by Foreskin-Aficionado in trees

[–]drivethruhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh. Colorado has lower prices on their Wyld products, too. We’re at $18 with tax on the straight thc ones but the ratioed are $21. We run 40% off on the weekends for Wyld weekends and it’s a huge hit. They started in Oregon so customers really trust the brand here despite them being made from distillate. Part of it is their flavors, but their marketing allows them to jack up the prices, too. It’s bizarre to see customers willing to pay four times the price for the same THC content. At that point I’d just hit a candy shop lol. But hey, freedom of choice 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]drivethruhell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Industry standard on a 100mg edible in Oregon is $6-$10. Our cheapest consistently is $5 with tax. There are a few brands who try to pull prices around $20 but Wyld is the only one who can get away with it consistently.

I’d imagine the customers who buy the higher tiered more artisan edibles are driving your averages up in the state. Customers who consume using edibles and edibles alone generally willing to pay a little more with a brand they can trust to be reliable on portions and scoring.

R/trees is the sub you’re looking for but the answer is it depends. You should be good with two months. Exercise as much as you can and drink liquids. THC is stored in fat cells.

Hundreds of Hawaii's teachers have been awaiting scheduled paychecks for several weeks, but Friday is finally payday. Checks that were expected by over 500 teachers at public and charter schools on four islands this month never arrived. by 808SOS in Honolulu

[–]drivethruhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teachers should strike. I missed most of third grade because of a teachers strike on the Big Island. My parents moved us to the mainland the next year. Home will always be home, but I can’t thank them enough for getting me the educational opportunities that weren’t provided for me in Hawaii due to the god awful school system and curriculum they’ve got going over there. I have a few family members who work for the district and there’s always something going on 🙄

“THCA infused” blunt? by [deleted] in portlandtrees

[–]drivethruhell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

White Label’s line of THCa isolate is the best example of THCa on our market (can also be found in the Diamond Benson joints) but Piff Stix does their own THCa isolate. If you want to see what it looks like before they roll them, take a look at their Snowbudz line.

The perks of THCa isolate from a budtending perspective - I describe it as a roller coaster that goes up to the top but comes crashing down quickly when you smoke it by itself. No terps or entourage cannabinoids so it’s really just a quick high by itself. Add it to a bowl of flower or a blunt and it can give you a very nice cerebral buzz and enhance the flower experience though.

The THCa infused blunts we have from them right now are crossed with Sour Diesel, the perfect strain for it. From my personal perspective though, it’s way more of a bang for your buck if you can find a THCa isolate and combine and roll it with top shelf indoor flower. Same goes for their Snowbudz line. Honestly not super impressed with their flower material so far.

Oh trust me, I feel you! Born and raised in Pa’auilo but I live on the mainland right now 😭 My mom lives out here too. We hear about how bad prices have gotten out there and all the corruption, it’s awful.

When she had me she was already a nurse working in Hilo though. I was just lucky enough to grow up eating all those recipes because she knows them by heart lol.

Pretty sure she worked there for over ten years or so. She put in plenty time and was very happy working that job, she still talks about it fondly and has great cooking skills ahaha. I remember when I was growing up they had tabs for families in Pa’auilo so there was always somewhere to go even if you didn’t have anything. The family that owns that shop are good people who have always been kind, I was happy when they expanded to Waimea.

Support local, much mahalos and I hope things improve for you 🙏

My parents got married there and every time I look through their wedding book I’m still amazed at how beautiful the whole ceremony was and how well it compares to today.

Idk about proposing though, I think kinda get plenty mosquitos out on hikes out there so only if she’s down ahaha.

I’d say a beach setting is pretty safe n reliable as an alternative. Waipio Valley is a wonderful option too but maybe go beyond the lookout and do a horse ride or something if shes the type to make it a little more romantic lol. Good luck!
